People need to realise that it doesn't matter when the consoles released, it's what games the system has now that the consumer cares about.
It doesn't matter.
The average consumer isn't comparing launch titles of a system that has more games now to a system that just launched and its titles. They compare the games they can get now.
It's not fair, but the Wii U had a head-start so that's just how it works out.
It doesn't matter to the consumer when the games came out, the consumer will compare the games they can get NOW, not the games they could have got at the Wii U launch vs the games they can get on the PS4 and Xbox One now.
It's not fair, but the Wii U did get a head-start.
If you're not downing the Wii U then why did you feel the need to bring it up?
Xbox One vs PS4 vs Wii U.
People always forget the Wii U, but it's got, and is getting more, compelling software from first and third parties that are worth a look at.
Haha yeah, it looked way too similar to Super Mario 3D Land at the start, but it seems like that's only the first few levels that are like that (to ease the player in I guess).
Now it's obvious how inventive the level design is. Can't wait to get this game :)
Well if the Xbox One has off-the-shelf parts as well as the PS4, does that mean the Wii U is the most heavily customised of the 3 next-gen consoles?
Yeah, as you said the next gen consoles don't have heaps to offer right now, but the Wii U is just about to get a slew of exclusives and all the games it's getting are looking great from what we've seen.
The Wii U browser is better, I own both and there's a noticeable difference in speed.
Apparently this guy agrees with me too. http://www.gamefaqs.com/boa...
It'll definitely be up there. :)
But lots of people will dismiss it simply because it's a Mario game. :/
Another wonderful review for a great game.
Well done Nintendo.
Can't wait to get my hands on it at launch! :)
Another brilliant review for a brilliant game.
Good job Nintendo.
Can't wait to get it at launch! :)
@Veneno
Stream sharing games is a gimmick.
Advanced graphics are a gimmick.
The gaming industry as a whole is a gimmick.
A gimmick is a device intended to capture attention, business, or publicity.
Yeah, the Wii was cheap. But why does that mean the Wii U should be that cheap?
You complain about a console being $300 (which you can get on sale for $250 pretty easily), and yet you've gone out and bought a PS4 for $400?
I don't understand the reasoning there, the Wii U has more games, the Wii U even has better games.
Why would you pay for that overpriced PS4?
How can you not care about a game that's getting such great reviews? :O
The thing is, people always think things they can't have will be better than what they can have.
While the PS4 wasn't out people were convinced it'd be soooo much better than the Wii U, but now that it is out they realise that the Wii U was never that bad.
It's like that saying "the grass is always greener on the other side", people couldn't have the PS4, it must have been great, now they can have the PS4 and they decide the Wii ...
The Wonderful 101 is similar to knack (got better reviews too hehe).
Uh, the wonderful 101 looks similar to knack (and got better reviews).
The Xbox division is losing money big time (2 billion a year).
Nintendo is making money.
Nintendo is worth more than the Xbox division at 11 billion or so.
The article specifically pointed to the Wii U's 9 exclusive launch titles (PS4 had 3), then talked about what the Wii U has today.
And yeah, of course it looks better, but that was just a smart business decision on Nintendo's part, you can't call it unfair to compare three console's current games libraries, even if one had a head start.
No consumer thinks "I'll buy a PS4 even though it has less games than the Wii U right now, but if it had bee...
