Needs another $100 price drop for the xmas break plus the release of quality games.
Even though Halo 3 is coming it won't make a significant increase in sales of the xbox 360 due to the HUGE FANBASE. They undoubtedly account for the massive pre-orders BUT they also already own a xbox 360 and are enjoy the other great games relesee already(Forza, Gears etc).
We already know that there are millions of current ps2 owners waiting for the right price drop and quality ...
Just a thought.
We already know that the original Killzone was an average game with obvious flaws:
1. Graphic glitches
2. questionable AI
3 Poor physics
4. Repetitive Play
KZ was rushed onto the underpowered Ps2. Now GG/Sony have the powerful Ps3 and have brought us Killzone 2(pre-alpha) which have the following improvements
1. Fixed
2. [still to be decided but likely fixed]
3. Fixed
4. [Still to be decided]
Okay, so forget Lion King, Shrek, Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Ice Age, Antz, Bug's Life. Sponge Bob etc. They're just cartoons/animations....just for kids. An adult can't possibly enjoy them.
Get real.
LBP will appeal to all ages and gender. It's simple innocent fun.
It will be a major console seller.
This is the new benchmark for console FPS. Thankfully, KZ2 is only in pre-alpha so the competition is still on for the King of the Hill.
Game on.
That's why the price wasnt dropped. Microsoft didn't even care about future buyers by reducing the price when the Ps3 and Wii were released. They don't give a damn. They just want your money.
Especially when the sales in Ps3 start to increase over the next year or two.
Tying the PsP with the Ps3 would be a brilliant move to increase sales. It would be a must have add on when buy a Ps3.
He should have come clean on that one. But hell, $100 less on a Ps3. Looking good. And probably a further drop by Christmas. You lucky ba$tard who have been waiting for the price drop.
As for killer app....Warhawk, Socom, Uncharted & HS are all going to play their part in increasing sales but the first killer app should be .....drum roll..... Little Big Planet.
If it doesn't result in a respectable increase in sales, Sony's bound to lower it further.
It has some tough competition at the moment and most hadn't expected the price drop so early. Sony will do what is necessary to make the Ps3 a success.
And people are complaining because.........?
Trailer trash.
He hasn't got a Ps3.
We all know that the price drops and due to the tough competition at present, the drop would probably come sooner then expected.
A Ps3 for $500 now - cool.
A Ps3 < $300 within 3 years - Oh damn you Sony to hell! How could they do this to me?! LOL.
Flame on Bot.
The xbox elite was Microsoft's attempt to produce a product to equal or better everything the PS3 was offering - it failed.
The 80G Ps3 already has everything Microsoft was trying to add to its Elite but now has more memory, a fee game and is the same price of the 60G Ps3. For Pete's sake, you're getting more for the same price then what you would have paid a week ago. What's wrong with that?
That same 60G Ps3 - with all the features that the xbox 360 Elite faile...
The wise buy should buy the 60G version and upgrade - if need be - to 160G.
I don't believe the 80G will do well.
Especially Resistance 2, Motorstorm 2....GoW3.
With potentially 10 million xbox customers, Ubi isn't going to miss out on those sales.
Killzone 2 has been in complete lock down for the past 2 years.
How can it not make the most anticipated list especially after the controversy of the E3 2005 trailer.
Great franchises like Halo and R&C are still going to be great - unless the developers have a sudden brain freeze - because they have everything perfected already(gameplay, graphics, audio, weaponry & vehicles, story & characters etc). They are NOT going to be SIGNIFICANTLY better than previous ...
LBP is going to be a major console seller.
Everybody's going to want the cute little rascals.
When they're all dirt cheap. Then you get to enjoy all gr8 games.
They didn't.
It was odd that Sony kept the $600 SKU - although with larger memory & a free game - as you could buy the cheaper Ps3 and upgrade its harddrive.
Also, eight months did seem a too early to drop the price as they lessen the per unit loss per unit sold the longer they kept the Ps3 at $600.
But doing a run out of a lesser Ps3 with a dramatic price cut would result in an increase in sales in a key market(North America). This would pu...
