It's a near perfect game, fun and has a huge fanbase.
Although on a smaller scale, it's like Madden NFL. Enjoyable game and large fanbase. It will always sell well and make profits.
However there are questions that need to be answered:
* Are there alot of new buyers waiting for Halo 3 to finally buy an xbox 360?
* Are the 4 million+ preorders simply current xbox 360 owners?
* Does it deserve any hype? Is it something ...

All the informed gamers know it was all press/journalist hype. NOT SONY.

If we are going to make comparisons we might as well go all the way.
Anyway, I'll be enjoying both Halo 3 and Haze ....as well as Killzone 2, MGS, Bisoshock, Geow 2, Mass Effect etc.
So these comparisons is only fodder for fanboys.

Microsoft dominates the PC Operating System market. And with new PCs coming with Vista preloaded they will continue to dominate. They don't have to worry. Everyone is beholding unto Bill Gates and his monopoly....unless you all get some brains and migrate to Linux or start buying Macs.
The way they are dragging their heals with Vista sounds so much like how they have been dealing with the quality issues of the xbox 360. Monopolistic habits are hard to break it seems.
It's not like the LCD for the diminutive PSONE. The Ps3's a massive unit.
Would be better to turn the PSP into a portable Ps3 controller and display for using or playing the Ps3 around your home.
I'd love to be able to move about my apartment with PSP in my pocket and be able to do anything I wanted with the Ps3 via the PSP.
It's only a matter if time for Sony to do this. Bring on the PSP3.
Should be just Killzone since it's on a new console.
If you have a Ps3 you'll by Killzone....if you have a Ps2, you'll buy Killzone.

Hopefully...HOPEFULLY...the build quality will be better once the 65nm chip SKU comes out for the xbox 360. Plus the price drop then I'll buy my xbox.
Fact is though, Microsoft is primarily a Software company use to having everything its own way due to 20 years market domination(a monopoly) with its Windows OS.

Although impressed with the alpha shown at E3, I still think there's alot to be done. 6-8 months is not enough.
I'd prefer they get everything just right in the same way the original Halo did - graphics, sound, weapons, vehicles, story, characters, SP & MP, netplay and of course gameplay.

Killzone 1 was a average game(~7/10 rating) with obvious flaws:
1. poor graphics
2. questionable AI
3. bad physics
4. Linear/repetitive gameplay

Although average, it was still a good game and fun to play. Most importantly, there was plenty of room to improve KZ - make it a great game.
Many xbots assume that GG/Sony aren't going to fix those obvious problems and CANNOT UNDERSTAND ...
If they even come close to the target graphic then KZ2 should be one of the best looking shooters.
But it needs to be one of the BEST shooters.
How?
* Sandbox gameplay - somewhat like Mercenaries.
* Broad player actions: standing rolls, ground rolls(like MGS), crawls, jumps, climbs(boxes & walls), kicks(for doors & enemies), lifting/carrying/placing objects(including moving Heavy weaponry) etc.

Halo is still my favourite shooter - simply because its fun - but am looking forward to KZ2.
I was initially disappointed with KZ1(mainly because of the crappy graphics & linear gameplay and no vehicles and comparing it to Halo) but it was still a very enjoyable game.
KZ2 will fix all the problems with the original game and will rock.
Or purchase exclusives.
But if they were looking, forget R*. Buy Epic games or Konami or even the publisher Ubisoft.
I've played Soccer and Rugby League and know both games well
American Football as a video game is far more enjoyable than a Soccer or Rugby League - especially that tactical play. IMO.
As for the comparison. These are stupid if the development doesnt utilize the full potential of a certain console. Just shows up how lazy they are.

Of the three ignores I have:
* one is a well known troll/flamer
* another is likely a hardcore racist after I commented on his racist remark and ignored him.
* the third is unknown. Undoubtedly a fanboy. Wish he would identify himself so I can put him on my ignore list because I guarantee, he has nothing worth reading.
What an experience it would be to fly over forests and city scapes in a level.
A worthy challenger for best FPS.
