@TX800
Yea. Was a dig at your comment about "no games to play" on PS4. Just sick of Xbots spouting this BS (Not saying you are. I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and believe you when you say you actually own a PS4). But surely you don't truly believe that the PS4 "has no games"!
The PS4 literally had more exclusives release in 2014, more games overall and surely you're not going to argue that bar ACUnity (which w...
From a tech standpoint this game is incredibly impressive!
And as good as the trailers look, it's nothing compared to actually seeing it in the flesh. Easily the cleanest, most detailed and advanced game engine I've ever seen running real time in a video game.
Can be confused as a cgi trailer at first before you realize you're actually in control!
Whether the game turns out to be a classic or only above average game play wise. It still has more going for it than the past 3-4 COD games and the last 2-3 Assassin Creed games added together. As they are just recycled trash that contribute nothing to the advancement of gaming as a medium.
At least RAD are willing to try and create a unique experience. And they are willing to push the boundaries from a technical and production standpoint.
I think that alo...
The story, the setting, and the insane visuals make this a must buy for me. I pre ordered digital months ago!
I absolutely love story driven single player games. Games like this and uncharted/TLOU, heavy rain ect. are the reason I am still so passionate about gaming. As I get older I look for something a little more emotive and compelling than twitch MP fps and recycled yearly franchise releases.
I really hope this game does well. We need more diversity in r...
The main reason for a "slim" hardware revision from a manufacturer stand point is not too boost sales at all (though I've no doubt that is does) but to reduce manufacturing costs.
Neither MS or SONY will bother with a "slim" revision untill global foundries shrink the manufacturing process of the APU's. Doing so before hand is completely pointless.
I highly doubt we'll see a revision to the designs of either console hit the ...
Hard for something imaginary to collect dust bro. Nice try tho ;-)
Seriously though. The PS4 had more games release in 2014 than the Xbox1 and IMO superior exclusives and for the most part and better versions of the multi plats.
So why it would be collecting dust is questionable. Anyhow. 2015 looks to be dominated by PS4 exclusives for the first 6-9months. So you'll have to dust it off I guess :-)
What I find interesting is,
"The PlayStation 4 has outsold both the Xbox One and Wii U every month since its release 14 months ago."
So much for "Narrowing the gap". And all those "Xbox sales victory articles". Easy to spin the figures to make one or two narrow NA sales victories seem like somehow the tide had turned.
Global sales figures tell the true story. If the current tends continue we could realistically ...
Finally IQ that looks genuinely "next gen".
1080/60p and no jaggies to be seen! Not sure what AA solution Naughty Dog have implemented but damn that is a beautiful crisp image. The level of detail in the environment is also hugely impressive!
I always knew ND would set the bar again this gen. Truly impressive demo!
Why the f'k you would want a 720p monitor for your PS4/Xbox1 is beyond me.
There are heaps better alternatives for the same money.
It's insane how cheap full HD monitors are now days. Maybe not as light as one of these.
But honestly. If you are happily lugging around the black cinder block that is the Xbox1 and power brick, controllers ect. You obviously don't really care about true portability lol.
Disable motionflow (or what ever it's called on your TV) and/or set your tv to "game mode" if you have the option.
Fixed this issue on my SONY W800B. I usually have the TV set to "animation" present for most games as this offers the highest level of motion smoothing and post processing.
It usually work wonders in smoothing out 30fps motion but on some titles it causes artefacts and weird shimmering some HUD elements.
True. But the woeful LOD transitions and LOD pop in are some of the most prominent problems with unity's performance.
The FOV is adjustable in the control options. Once the slider is adjusted to its maximum value it's MUCH better.
I recommend anyone who is currently playing GTA5 in FPS view to adjust it via the control options. Makes a huge difference.
I only manage on average to game about 10 hrs a week now days. Between my son, my career and my wife most weeknights and the weekend are off the cards. But I do get Friday night all to myself. Ahh Friday night games night. Brews, bros, and games,... Best way to wind down after a hard slog all week.
I don't mind so much the lost gaming time. As much as I miss gaming like I used too (several hours a night minimum) I cherish time with my family and would never trade time wit...
I'm seriously considering Dragon Age as my next purchase. I've never played the previous games though. Will this be a issue from a story point of view? Also, how would you personally rate the game.
Sorry. Back OT.
Destiny seems to be still very popular amongst my PSN friends. I personally haven't played much of late. Still at Lvl 16. Might get back into it once the DLC's drop. I was having a blast playing with friends at first. But it kinda t...
@starchild
I'm glad you're enjoying Unity. And I'm equally glad that your experience has been much less disappointing than my own.
I could have perhaps forgiven the terrible framerate and frequent crashes if the rest of the game was excellent. But I just didn't feel compelled to push past the glaring flaws.
The story was mediocre. The missions unimaginative and repetitive. The combat and movement mechanics were only marginall...
I disagree.
Unity was essentially released to consumers still in beta form. Performance is nothing short of appallingly on all platforms and the fact that the X1 version outperforms the PS4 version by such a big margin only speaks further in regards to the unfinished nature of the code.
It should have been delayed and released when finished. I don't see why people defend this game or ubi's actions.
I have spent several hrs with a re...
I think the far greater crime than the terrible matchmaking (this can potentially be fixed with a patch) is the absolutely woeful split screen performance.
My best friend specifically bought an X1 and Halo MCC for the sole purpose of us playing through the campaign in co op.
We had put a whole weekend aside to do so. It was a mammoth exercise (we both have kids and busy careers) but we managed.
Honestly though. Split screen is basically un...
Not at all. It's had some excellent exclusives. Not to mention superior versions of every muliplat (bar one)
And honestly. What X1 exclusives in your opinion justify an X1 purchase? So far they haven't released one that was compelling enough for me to buy one.
No way. This game deserves the poor reviews for being released essentially unfinished. It's completely unacceptable and the reviews should reflect this.
To hell with ubi. They deserve this game to flop. Afterall the only thing these companies pay attention to is their bottom line.
We as gamers need to stop giving devs a free pass with shit like this. It's becoming an all to common occurrence.
Irrespective of how great the game will ...
Sounds like exactly the type of game I love. Cannot wait for this to drop.
10-12hrs is pretty subjective too. For example. On easy you can smash out a complete play through of UC3 is way less time than this. But for my first play through I set the difficulty to hard (pretty much any game I play for the first time I default to "hard") And it took me a good solid 20-30hrs to finish for the first time. And I loved every second.
Sure you could probably...
