Looks like fun. Well balanced and with good strategic opportunities.
I also like that they seem to have vastly improved the "splash damage" of explosives like the rpg ect.
I just hope they include more diverse game modes. Like "defuse" style modes. Only one life. No respawn. Last man standing ect. And smaller maps teams. 6v6 and the like. I used to really enjoy "defuse" in bf4. Sadly no one seemed to play that mode.
I'm going to go ahead and assume that English is not your first language.
But honestly. If you want another game that plays like clasic battlefield, go back to playing bf4. I'm glad this feels and looks so different from the clasic bf experience.
No tanks or jets?!? Really. Since when do the cops/swat have access to M1 battle tanks and f15 fighters. You can't be serious!?
Old build looks over saturated. Colours are too bright and unrealistic. Black crush is terrible and much of the detail is shadows is lost. Almost like how SBAO looks compared to HBAO.
The new build is better is every way. Much better contrast and colours are a much better pallette. Looks much more realistic. Also the details in the shadows are much more detailed, no longer lost in the heavy black shadows. I still think they moved from SBAO to HBAO in the new build. The skin...
Rock solid framerate on PS4. Virtually no screen tearing on PS4. Much better texture streaming on PS4. But yeah, both versions are the same :-/
I love how when the Xbox1 has a slight edge in framerate and suddenly its a huge win (even though it still runs at a lower res ala COD AW) but when there is a clear advantage to the PS4 version in every conceivable way. And now it's "basically the same on both consoles"!
At least admit the advantage wh...
Wrong. Draw distance is identical between both consoles. DF confirms this in the article. Its just the vids are not completely in sync.
Nice try though. Clear win for PS4 this time round. XBox1 still performs adequately though. But if you have both consoles, I think you'd be crazy to get the Xbox1 version over the PS4 version.
Even though the WiiU hasn't sold as well as the PS4/Xbox1. I guarantee it's still been far more profitable than either.
Nintendo will be making a reasonable profit on each WiiU sold. And it's first party software attach rate is phenomenal. The WiiU is far from a failure in a business/profitability standpoint.
As awesome and powerful as the PS4/Xbox1 are. Both MS and SONY would barely turn a profit on each console sold. And I'm pretty sure MS...
Ouch! Kinda off topic. But true. If I was comparing the two. TLOUR is by far the superior remaster.
Just try and play MCC in split screen co op. The framerate is completely unplayable!!
A huge oversight IMO. Split screen co op was a huge part of the experience in the original games.
Wrong.
Textures. Lighting. Shadow quality. Proper HBAO. Effects. All significantly improved from the original.
Play the remaster. Then go play the original. Its a real eye opener.
What a loaf of crap. The remaster was brilliant!
Considering the PS4/PS3 hardware couldn't have been more different, and much of the core game code would have had to be rewritten from the ground up, I think ND did a stellar job.
The results speak for themselves. 1080p, almost locked 60fps and a vast improvement in textures, model detail, lighting and effects quality. What more does the author want FFS!!
I just finished another play throug...
@gamenamefame.
Both APU'S are heavily customized. Yes they share Bulldozer CPU cores and GPU cores based on Graphics Core Next (GCN) Architecture. But its basically there that the similarities end.
RAM and bus architecture are radically different, as are things like GPGPU compute and raw Gfops performance.
Both systems have their strengths. Just the PS4 has the edge on Raw compute performance and is a simpler system to develop for.
I'll wait to actually see results before I believe anything coming from MS PR.
They have failed to deliver on claims so many times. But no one seems to remember. Or they just choose to ignore past claims that turned out to be bogus.
I believe that DX12 will be a big deal for PC games development. But if indeed the Xbox1 had been built from the ground up for DX12. Then the current API should already have all the software improvements in place.
...
I had an acid trip like that once. Was awesome.
I see a lot of misinformation and trollish comments from both sides in this thread.
I just wish for once people would do a bit of research and educate themselves as to exactly what DX12 is and what it will actually mean for games development.
The only real changes it will bring is vastly improved draw call efficency (especially for PC ) and an improved tool set for DX12 compatible hardware.
What a lot of people fail to realize is that like...
Ahhh. The saltiness is strong with you. Fallen to the dark side you have.
On a serious note though. If you actually read the article you'd understand that it's the TECH behind the gorgeous visuals and wonderfully fluid game play that is revolutionary.
They've basically taken all the elements which made the last three games in the series so awesome and wound the dial to 11. It's Uncharted FFS! But Uncharted with 10x the raw computational powe...
Oh wow. You're completely right. Can't believe I typed N64! Brain fart lol!
Gamecube is like my second favorite console of all time. So many fond memories. I honestly don't think I ever defeated the final Metroid Prime boss either. Even getting to the final battle was an epic mission in itself. All those damned Metroids drove me up the wall ahhhh!
I honestly think modern games are a lot "softer" now days. Checkpoints every 5 minutes. Unl...
I clearly remember the final boss in Metroid Prime 64 being hard as hell. And some of the "Weapon" battles in FFVII being brutally long.
bit honestly nothing in recent years has offered a memorable challenge like old school games did.
I'm just stupefied that he went to all the trouble to research all those scores and bother to write it up! It shows some level of dedication to troll so hard!
It does make a nice change from the tired "awesome graphics, but game play blah blah, QTE blah blah" though.
@cloudrap.
While I agree the comment seems a little trollish. I actually do completely agree with the sentiment.
Sadly it's only in PS4 exclusives that we are likely to see the 40-50% GPU advantage the PS4 has put to good use. Multi plats will tend towards parity (either intentionally or just due to development constraints).
I am very excited to see how far SONY first party studios can push the PS4 hardware. Considering what GG achieve...
Pretty much my mentality too bro. Yes the visuals look insane, but what has me the most excited is the story and the setting.
Second most anticipated release of this year. Second only to No Mans Sky with UC4 a close third!
Hell. This has me tempted to finally buy a WiiU. I absolutely love Metroid Prime! It was a sad day indeed when some d-bag flogged my cube and original Xbox. Used to fire up the cube for Metroid and Resident Evil 4 every now and then.
