I approved this story but chuckled to myself at the same time.
besides. i don't play rpg's for graphics anyway. the most popular rpg in the world, world of warcraft, doesn't have stunning graphics.
xbl already has this. in fact, most of what people are requesting for psn xbl already has. xbl is like a ferrari. psn is like a subaru.
M$ has been refining XBL since the original xbox. you're kidding yourself if you believe that it won't take years for psn to catch up. also, while they play catch up, xbl will still be improving. with Microsoft's innovation and large headstart, I doubt psn will ever fully measure up to XBL
keep deluding yourself that psn doesn't have more lag than XBL. xbl has more bandwith. i've witnessed it first hand at a friend's house. incidently he got suckered into buying a ps3 because he owned a ps2 previously. as soon as he gets the money he's buying an xbox 360.

A) the trophy system will not be the same as achievements. M$ has a patent on achievements. I don't know what trophies will be. however, I do know it will have to be different enough for achievements so Sony doesn't get sued. in fact, Sony may get sued anyway if they infiringe on the patent. M$ has already threatened.
B) these "trophies" will only apply to new games. none of your old games before the update will have troph...
I don't really care because i think resident evil is over-rated. however, it sure was fun to watch the droids cry for a day. you guys are the biggest babies out there. bigger than M$ fanboys & wii fanboys.
why would a "bot" be disappointed now? it's still coming out on the same day for both consoles.
whatever droids. so desperate. mgs4 has basically sold 150k more ps3s so far according to these figures. that's actually a big disappointment but you're too much of brainwashed fanboys to even recognize this fact.
hey, maybe when the ps3 manages to catch up to the 6 MILLION console lead that the 360 has you can gloat but for now you just look really desperate and jealous. mgs4 took 4 years with a estimated budget of 100 million and Sony got a 150k console bump out of it so far...
It's still a rumor. However, who says it will just be a couple months. timed exclusives can be up to a year to a year and a half like Bioshock. they are very rarely a couple months if the console company is paying a good sum of money.
Also, I don't expect anyone to run out and buy a 360 just because RE5 is a timed exclusive. but taken with a tandem of all the other exclusive JRPGs and AAA titles it could save a lot of people time from flaming up N4G and signing useless petition...
basically increased PS3 sales by about 150K for the week with analysts predicting sales will slope off to their normal rate within a week or two (like what happens with all big title games). I'm an Xbox fanboy and I thought it would at least sell 400-500K PS3's. Maybe if it has legs it will reach that number.
still, kudos on MGS4 selling almost 1.5 million copies in the first day. Not too shabby.
already declaring MGS4 goty when there are still 6 months left in 2008 and there is already one game out with better critical reviews in GTA 4. lol
Otherwise, just stick with the PS3. I only owned an Xbox when it was 3rd place to PS2 and the Gamecube and all the exclusives went to the PS2 first and I still had a bunch of fun with the original Xbox. Jeesh! You'd think the gaming world ended for PS3 owners or something.
Edit: also whoever wrote this editorial has no clue. This rumor was started by a PS3 fanboy website. Xbox fanboys have nothing to do with it.
A) Gamestop only lists the game as a 360 title.
B) there is an ongoing thread at the Capcom website where PS3 fanboys are whining up and down about this rumor all day and Capcom has not responded.
C) the source of the rumor has been reliable in the past regrding a wii-like controller for the PS3 and what firmware updates will have for the PS3 before they're announced.
d) capcom does have a big announcement for the E3

Just like Sony used to do. 3DO Interactive, Atari Jaguar, Amiga CD32, and Sega Dreamcast all got squashed by Sony. Now, Sony is losing and all we hear is Sony fanboys crying like Sony has some right to a game developed by a 3rd party developer.
Stop whining and go play your MGS4 playing machine. LOL
this is exactly how Sony killed the Dreamcast.
What I'm saying is that the hype will sell this game alone. People just buy games because they're Halo like they buy Harry Potter books or Pokemon. It has a campaign that furthers the Halo story so people will want to know what happens. Even if they're not big RTS fans they will buy this game. And if it's a top-notch RTS then it could possibly become the console equivalent of Starcraft because no one has really tried a big budget RTS built exclusively for a console.

The devs have specifically stated that this will not come out for PC ever. Interesting to note also that the original Halo started out as a RTS and then was scrapped in favor of the FPS we all know and love. Bungie is working hand in hand with these guys to make sure this game kicks @ss.
I can just envision Sony execs peeing their pants right now when they release that later this year Halo wars and Gears of War 2 will possibly released within a month of each other both with their requisite massive ad campaigns. Both franchises also have upcoming movies, too.
I also bet they live in eternal fear of Halo wars becoming the console equivalent of Starcraft.
Not everyone is a fan of the MGS series. I played through the first two and I am not fan of the story or dialogue. A lot of the story and dialogue is just embarassing to me. If I want to play a game with a great story then I will play the Half-Life series.
