Been playing AI Wars from Arcen games. I had a problem and posted on the tech support forum and the company owner/lead programmer responded to my issue within 5 minutes and offered a fix, which worked. Similarly, I posted a bug once and refreshed the page and another programmer had responded within, literally, 20 seconds of my post.
Guess this is the kind of service you have to settle for with indie games though... :) or you can just stick with Ubisoft.
You've SPOILED it!
we have lasoings and hangings. Oh boy.
When you say people need their life ruined for pirating a 65 dollar game I am reminded of a local story where a teacher embezzled 11 million dollars from the school district over the years, but was let of easy because she was an upstanding citizen otherwise. She had to do some community service and pay 750,000 in fines.
I think they should adopt a similar strategy for prosecuting pirates. If I download a game and get caught, then I can keep the game but I have to pay a 5$ f...
Figures, first day of school. :(
But if it saves me 60$ in 3 minutes?
And poor IGN, they work hard on their review and then someone steals it!!!
First PS3 game I was interested in. I like simulations like this.
I think the game was scrapped but then someone said "lets just release what we had, and sell it as a downloadable title."
Ok, so the console really only cost 600$, because I would want a TV anyways. Today it would be 299$ or whatever consoles are selling for?
Then again, wouldn't I also want a PC anyways? (Who doesn't have a PC?) Why not drop an extra 99$ on a GPU and an extra 50$ for a few gigs of good ram.
Take what you already have, add 300$; get a console.
Take what you already have, add 200$; get a gaming PC.
Console cost more, because I had to buy a TV to use with it.
Sure, the computer monitor isn't as large as the TV, but it cost less, and has higher resolution.
We see they will cut box and media costs by removing manuals.
Can't wait to see what they do with the games.
"I went and bought it for the ps3 and was looking forward to buying it on Steam until they released their DRM info."
So you bought the more expensive, and easier to develop version? Way to make a stand!
I've long speculated about a RTS which reports stats of winning players to a central server which then runs automated balancing. Basically, "oh look, 99% of winners produce nothing but unit X; lets nerf unit X." Save developers the need to balance if implemented well; and would give a ever change game dynamic to keep things fresh. "Unit Y is looking strong this week, I'll have to watch out for them."
Anyways, no typical RTS is worth a monthly fee. And SupC...
I mean, which would you rather be able to do; open something like the PS3 and say "hey, if I solder these two pins together I can access the hyper-visor and dump the OS with this program I created." Or would you rather post on the n4g comment section.
I think we all know which is cooler, and that's why were all here.

What were talking about here are crackers.
and a continent can no longer play their single player games.
Not too intrusive I suppose...
The TOS clearly states 20$ cash. Not check. :)
Ima make a EULA t-shirt next.
By clicking disagree you agree to send me 20$ cash by the end the month.
A local case comes to mind where a school teacher embezzled around 12 million dollars from the school district over the years. She was convicted, and the judge was easy on her because she was otherwise an upstanding citizen. She did have to do some community service and pay 75,000 dollar fine.
I think we should start a list of crimes one can commit which will bring a smaller penalty than game piracy. Wouldn't be surprised if murder ends up on the list.
I have been skipping their games. I skipped AC2. I decided to look into RUSE, so I loaded up the steam page and scrolled down to the developer and DRM information first, saw Ubisoft names, hit the back button, never have looked at the game again. I was interested in Far Cry 2 as well, but skipped it. I'll always remember what was said in a Far Cry complaint thread, "Ubisoft, I'll keep my money, you keep your game, and we'll see who comes out the loser."
