Lol Sony has just as much third party support if not more considering PS4 is the lead platform, but they're holding a conference. So why is Sony holding one and MS isn't? Because Sony has new games to show and MS doesn't. It's as simple as that.
I honestly just don't think they have much to show. Excluding indies, Screamride was the only new IP they showed at Gamescom. Sony, on the other hand, said they had even more unannounced games to show that they had to cut out of their Gamescom conference due to time constraints.
It looks to me like MS put everything they had on the table at E3, much like they did at E3 last year. If their upcoming holiday lineup doesn't generate sales, they could be in trouble because...
Media Molecule is arguably the most creative studio out there these days. In a market that is often over-saturated by shooters and striving for visual fidelity, you can always count on these guys to make some of the most fun and unique experiences available.
That's pretty funny considering the few new games MS did show at Gamescom were indies...
lol I'm not exactly a believer in an Xbox comeback. I'm a diehard Playstation fan, so, while I'm aware Sony needs Xbox for competition, the Xbox Division could dissolve right now and I wouldn't blink. So I'm not sure if the disagrees are from Xbox fans or Sony fans shunning me for daring mention the "war" being far from over. I was trying to be fair and I get torn apart for it lol.
At any rate, all I'm really getting at is that it's too e...
Game looks great. Seems to be like a more fluid Dark Souls with subtle hack 'n slash elements. The Souls series is great, but sometimes I lack the patience for it. This game seems perfect for anyone else who feels like me lol.
No, not necessarily. MS has quite the uphill battle ahead of them, but nothing is impossible. Look at the PS3 last gen; terrible start, but ultimately sold more than the 360 due to its superior hardware and exclusives. Now, considering Microsoft has the weaker hardware again and Sony is starting to get going in terms of exclusives, MS may never be able to catch up. If they are, they best start investing in new studios to make new IPs instead of buying off timed third parties and pray to Zeus ...
Microsoft also doesn't have answers for God of War, Infamous, Bloodborne, anything Quantic Dream makes, anything Media Molecule makes, Twisted Metal, the list goes on.
But hey, Phil, who's counting?
Hellblade is also a timed exclusive........
Edit: lol my bad, I thought the article said "I'd rather have Hellblade THAN a timed exclusive"
Wow. You make my head hurt. Go away.
@aconnellan Microsoft showed a bunch of new games? Um...please fill me in on what those were.
Microsoft did not have a bad conference by any means, but I think Sony "won" solely on the basis of showing so many new games, whether they were AAA, indie, or AAA indies.
The only new game Microsoft showed was Screamride and maybe a few of the smaller titles during their ID@Xbox showcase were unannounced. That's it. Quantum Break, Fable, Forza, Sunset ...
And The Order, Abzu, Everybody's Gone To The Rapture, No Man's Sky, Deep Down, Wild, Rime, Without Memory, Tearaway, plus many more.
Not sure what the disagrees are about. Xbox has some great games coming up, but forging lists to make it look like Microsoft is offering more to pick from than Sony is simply inaccurate.
Try English next time.
Lol Sony doesn't need to go get anything; they can do it themselves. Bloodborne is basically another entry in the Souls series and it's a third-party exclusive; only difference is Sony Japan is co-developing it since Sony technically owns the IP. I'd say the spiritual successor to Demon's Souls, which ultimately became Dark Souls, is just as big of a third-party exclusive. And Bloodborne, unlike Tomb Raider, isn't timed.
lol yeah, Microsoft has been churning out their usual first-party offerings of Halo, Fable, and Forza for nearly 15 years now. They might be making a conscious effort to improve/establish first-party studios, but good luck competing with Sony on that front; they own AAA studios all over the world.
This move just proves Microsoft's lack of new IP in my opinion. They did the same thing they did last year: put everything on the table at E3. Save for maybe a few indies, Screamride was literally the only unannounced new IP that they showed. Sony showed several new exclusive games within the first ten minutes of their conference.
@horndog oh look, it's you talking about PS3 sales again. You never do that.
And did you literally just say "9 billions" plural?
There is no hope for you, my friend.
I agree. I think they need to show some stuff we don't know about...if they have anything lol.
@Kavorklestein it's all gonna be ok man lol deep breaths, buddy, deep breaths.
It has nothing to do with Titanfall being "bad"; it's the simple fact that it was rushed out and, therefore, is a one-trick pony. $60 for the "ultimate next-gen multiplayer experience" that couldn't even reach 1080p, had virtually no campaign/storyline, and not to mention the 360 version releasing a month after the X1 version.
Personally I think Starhawk for PS3 was a better multiplayer-focused game...and it had a campaign and was only $40 on launc...
