@Crimzon why not have both like Sony?
Y'know what Microsoft's "blockbuster" holiday lineup consists of this year? Halo, Fable, and Forza. The same three games they've been making since the first Xbox. Tomb Raider doesn't count, and many of their indie titles like Inside are also timed exclusives. And that's not even to mention that they've released virtually nothing so far this year and won't until Halo in October. So if you like playing ...
lol massacre? The only massacre is on the sales chart, bud.
XBLSkull is back with his imaginary PS4.
I'm sure Microsoft will have lots of new games to show.
Like Halo and Gears. And also Halo and Gears. Then probably Halo and Gears. After that, definitely Halo and Gears. Oh and did I mention Halo and Gears? Yeah, Halo and Gears.
@chris lol what does that have to do with anything I said? I acknowledged the existence of both a new Gears and a collection. My point is that saying the only thing better than those would be a new IP is ironic because Black Tusk was making a new game before MS assigned them to Gears.
Ironic that you said the only thing better than a Gears collection would be a new IP considering Microsoft made Black Tusk cancel the new game they were working on in order to develop the new Gears lol.
People forget about the first 10-11 months of every year because Microsoft manipulates the American gaming media into thinking they have the better games lineup by throwing everything they have on the table all at once. Microsoft has released virtually nothing so far this year and it's going to stay that way until the holidays. This is what they do. Year after year. Even without Uncharted, Sony's 2015 lineup has easily offered a more diverse selection of titles. Not to mention most of...
Oh god no. New Rare, please leave Old Rare titles alone.
Could not agree more. AssCreed is beyond overdone. I don't think ANY franchise needs an annual installment (except for maybe sports titles since that's just kinda the way they go), let alone a franchise like AssCreed that almost always releases unfinished. It's just too much. I love Uncharted, but if there was a new one literally every single year I eventually would be like "ok Naughty Dog how about you make something new."
I just can't believe Fanboy Pachter actually admitted that Sony has the better exclusives. At any rate, E3 should be very interesting. I know Sony has a lot of big studios working on unannounced games, and Microsoft will probably have as much new stuff to show as they ever have with Phil in charge.
@MasterChief it's very unlikely that anything announced at E3 will drop by the end of the year. Some of Sony's biggest studios are working on unnaounced games, but you don't see me counting those as 2015 releases because they're almost definitely not going to be done by then.
@jalva I can almost promise you that none of the games you listed will
drop this year, especially Phantom Dust considering the studio developing it closed and the project has to ...
2015 for Sony: The Order, Helldivers, Bloodborne, Until Dawn, The Tomorrow Children, possibly No Man's Sky and Deep Down.
2015 for Microsoft: Ori, Forza, Fable, Halo, timed Tomb Raider, possibly Quantum Break but it's looking like it may be delayed.
Idk, if Quantum Break is delayed then I don't see how you can say Xbox has a definitively better lineup considering the rest of their games are the usual suspects and a timed exclusive. Even if QB mana...
Oh man you can just see the xbox fans coming out of the woodwork with the sllent disagrees. MS is going hard over the holidays like they always do and releasing the same three (and some of the only) first party franchises they have: Halo, Fable, Forza. Over and over. Since 2001. Quantum Break is likely getting delayed to next year. I ask you this, though: what has MS put out so far this year? Exactly. Meanwhile, Sony has dropped The Order, Bloodborne is close, Until Dawn is this summer, No Ma...
Lol these self-proclaimed video game "journalists" baffle me. Do they not do any research before they type? Seriously. I can mostly predict what Microsoft will show right now. And, as a matter of fact, I will:
Halo, Fable, Forza
Quantum Break
Whatever Rare is working on
Indie showcase
Probably a "surprise" in the form of a timed third-party exclusive
And I'd bet my life they'll end it with a Gears teaser
I see so many people saying Xbox is "all about the games" and, while Phil Spencer has certainly tremendously helped, I'm not jumping on board just yet. It's not that the X1 has bad games or no games to pick from, but it's mostly the same old stuff. I mean, they released two Forza games just ten months apart. Again, not that Forza is bad, but do we really need two in less than a year? Yes I know Horizon takes the open world approach, but still. And, sure, Sunset Overdrive...
They wanted to have Insomniac, a company mostly associated with Playstation until they made Sunset Overdrive Xbox-exclusive for whatever reason (money, I'm guessing), make a new Conker game which has only one installment on a Nintendo platform? Sorry, but I'm glad that abomination didn't happen. It's bad enough that Rare has fallen so far. Playing these old Rare IPs on an Xbox wouldn't feel right to me. It'd be like playing Zelda on a Playstation.
It's people like you that make my private parts hurt.
First AAA exclusive? Funny because, regardless of reviews, Killzone: SF, Infamous: SS, Knack, Driveclub, The Last of Us Remastered, and LittleBigPlanet 3 all say hi.
Edit: oh yeah, duh, and The Order.
I do not. Want to live. On this planet. Anymore.
Uh. I think you have it a little backwards there hoss. How is dropping nothing for the first 9-10 months of every year releasing a "steady stream of good exclusives"? Sony is the company who sprinkles their exclusives throughout the year...
Microsoft does the same thing every. Single. Year. They throw everything they have on the table at E3, release it all during the holidays, profit, repeat. They don't care about making new experiences for their fan base. Halo ...
