Yes you are right my apologies, the links came out wrong although my intention was honest so i can and will correct it....

http://images.eurogamer.net... THIS is definitely a high geometry model on forza

This is my response to you Ayepecks. Maybe you just don't know much about framerates or how they feel when they are dodgy. However the video makes it very clear the framerate is pretty low when things get going, dropping below 20 frames on both consoles and regularly running in the low twenties.

Just watch the dock sec...

Yup what Orpheus has said, in that these developers might build very high detail polygon meshes but they never get used in actual gameplay, just photo mode or auto vista. The console is simply not powerful enough to do that detail in gameplay. PC is.

Not seeing a lot of performance hit at all on a GTX570. The textures are noticeably better, lots more Crysis 1024 x 1024 res textures instead of the boggy console 512 x 512 ones. Even before this mod though the game maxed will eat up over 1200mb of video memory.

Whereas before heaps of rubble looked awful, now they look more like...rubble

The settings are medium at best, i have had a lot of experience with Crysis on PC. They are mixed up between low and high but overall they aren't beating medium.

It is clear that the consoles are cut well back, geometry, noticeably textures and shadow precision etc. Ignore anyone saying it is close to 'high' on Pc because it isn't...

You would get better visuals on medium across the board, which a 9600GT and a Core 2 duo would have no trouble ...

360 version has more res like Crysis 2, but i read plenty about how the framerates can be a bit dodgy on both versions so i would be more interested reading that before drawing a final conclusion

Gotta love Daytona USA 2. We have loadsa arcades here and the full size cabinets are bloody brilliant. They are always EXTREMELY loud. You can hear them over the bustle and hustle of the arcade.

Daaaaayyyytonnaaaa Daaaaaaayyyyytonaaaaa :D http://www.youtube.com/watc... turn this up full blast for the authentic arcade experience lol

While console 'sims' can claim their models are X amount of polygons- sure they are in autovista/show/replay mode, they aren't anything like that in actual gameplay so the game can run 60 frames.

PC could actually do that much geometry in real time in gameplay. Proper tesselated vehicles could easily exceed a million polygons IN GAME close up without breaking sweat.

As for the physics, then the flexibility of the Pc platform and extremely powerful...

I mean its cool you can look at it but cmon....you can't drive it? That would have been a proper bonus if it were drivable with the double axle steering too

Very nice. Proper Crysis level 1024 x 1024 textures i expected from dot in Crysis 2 which Crytek did not deliver...

Also a nice touch to allow you to select your level so i just carried on where i was but with the mod

Ignore Metro's requirements/recommended anyway they are near useless. 2033 is one of the most demanding games made so far, only very high end stuff can max it in 1080p and manage over 30 frames.

As a PC gamer i have to say the game is overall a letdown. Even a console gamer, even as a 360 owner, its a letdown really.

This from both the technical standpoint and the gameplay standpoint.

From a technical perspective 360 owners might be most happy, but other games on PS3 massively outstrip it as a technical showcase, ditto PC.

Its been built for 360 clearly, early on the days when Carmack spoke of struggling to get PS3 to 60 frames meant...

Why is this nonsense allowed on this site? WHO approved this? It is patently rubbish with a terrible description, and even on the forum linked to shows it is rubbish by simple checking of the photographic files the person in question uploaded!

You put a lot of work in, i like how you did one very low, but i wouldn't mind seeing a video where they are compared on say just medium settings across the board.

I realise this is time consuming- however i think most anybody with a reasonable graphics card can manage medium settings on the PC version. It would illustrate how even medium is better than console settings.

If any developer is entitled to say they are pushing PS3 to the very limit then it is Naughty Dog. Look no further, the best looking console game i have ever seen.

http://www.youtube.com/watc... Plus this in 1080p.

About time someone did a comparison on the PC's terms @ 1080p to show the true difference. For too long sites have cut PC off at the legs down to 720p to compare, when no one plays in 720p on PC, nearly everyone plays at one higher resolution or another.

Even with youtube's compression it is obvious ...

Fantastic video. Finally someone who puts a console game up against a PC game on PC's terms- i.e native 1080p. This illustrates the true differences. Set that video to 1080p and enjoy....

There are some great looking smartphone games out there. However Vita is still considerably more powerful than any smartphone, this WILL show when it hits.

Besides this as has been mentioned, Vita is designed around gaming. I just wouldn't be looking to play the kind of games that Vita will offer on a modern smartphone. You cannot replicate the depth that vita games will have on any smartphone today, this is down to many factors, including screen sizes and buttons.

It is medium at best. After many many years of experience with Crysis the equivalent settings seen in the console versions are medium at best, with the textures, shadows, water and post process lighting taking the worst hits besides the resolution and AA of course.

The textures are what reduces the fidelity the most, with max settings on PC being an absolute truckload of 1024 x 1024 textures and several 2048 x 2048 textures too. Even on medium the texture fidelity on Pc is su...

This is a trade off- i would give environments to Forza, and cars to GT5. Been that way since Forza 3.

GT5 has far more accurate lighting and especially shader effects on the screen (for example the textures in car) especially in car shots. Forza's cars seem much more 'flat' and cartoony because of this.

Reverse it for many of the environments. Forza spends a bit more resources on the trackside details, especially the trees.

When ...
