That is definitely true.

I had no idea there were so many in the 90s until I did a quick search of it. Pokémon first movie is really good. Second one is quite good. Mortal Kombat isn't great, it being on the list as one of the best says a lot about the quality of video game movies at the time.

I started on a Spectrum but my first console was a Master System. (European, obviously)

Would agree about competition. Especially seeing what Sega and Nintendo did and what Sony, Nintendo and Xbox did during the 4th and 7th generations when in close races.

@darthv72 I had no idea that there was a PS1 that played VCD. That is cool to learn.

I knew the Saturn had a VCD card but the PS1 VCD is news to me.

Edit: wow, the PS1 version had the VCD built in. I just looked it up

By their best five games or best twenty games? Or the library overall?

And what about games that were rated highly at the time but are hard to enjoy nowadays for their poor framerates or outdated controls?

Definitely agree that hardware itself and the non-game experience is important but I think lasting, impactful games ultimately carry a platform/generation.

I think someone's age will naturally affect their favourites. Not just cos of childhood nostalgia but by how much time they can grow attached to games or consoles at a given time.

I kinda missed out on a generation cos I was really busy for a few years. Didn't play nearly as many games or for as long.

I would tend to agree on the 'lasting effect' part. Even if I don't think I could pick a greatest generation myself.

I am a bit of a sucker for Horizon. And it's the only MS haven't overdone yet ...

The scaling is more aggressive than on Spider-Man MM. It looks downright blurry when in motion sometimes.

I will have a comparison up tomorrow but the resolution scaling is VERY aggressive on Performance RT and if you are playing on a moderately-sized 4K TV and have reasonable eyes - you will definitely notice how soft the image gets :-(

The Performance Mode decider for me was the slick, smooth movement of thousands of particles at 60fps. It sounds like a small thing but once you see it on a nice television, it's breathtaking, man.

Cos I didn't mind 30fps for anything else... except for the particles (drool face)

@SullysCigar you are going to love it.

Especially how the HDR causes all the particles and beams to gleam and glisten on a decent TV.

It's so thoroughly designed for PS5 though. The speed of the SSD is crucial to the game itself, most PCs wouldn't be able for the swift whole-world transitions.

There will be one 6 or 7 somewhere, as usual.

Certainly an early GotY shout

Lol it would have destroyed your exam performance if it was out any earlier.

Congratulations on graduation, also 👏👏👏

It's legit that good. Absolutely mind-meltingly creative

1683d ago 8 agree2 disagreeView comment

Definitely. It's a masterpiece that screenshots and compressed YT videos do no justice to.

Nah, they won't have them competing with OMEN, HyperX will be repositioned
