I can't see sony dropping the series totally, they'll throw out some prequels. It was really sucessful on the PS2 and i can see it being sucessful on the PS3 too.
Single player - imo, R2 was average. Even though i can't bring myself to complete it, i find it sooo boring.
MP though, i think they really put the effort in. So R:FOM > R2 in Single player
R2 > R:FOM in Multiplayer, even if they have somehow made it feel a bit like halo.
Microsoft gradually introduce parts of updates in the background with other updates, so for example - they will of included say the backend stuff for a future update in the NXE update.
I cannot wait for this game, the god of war series in my opinion is one of the best - so i hope to god it comes out this year.
I racked up a total of 26 hours of online game time within the first 3 days of getting the game, plus the 6 - 7 hours i racked up offline. It took me months to get that much on CoD4.
So in my personal opinion, yes. But will it be as popular as CoD4 even if we just count the PS3 version? Nope - unfortunatly not, even if everyone liked the controls (I love them) it wouldn't do it.
As much as us core gamers dislike what miyamoto has done recently you cannot ignore how much he has thrown the gaming industry to the next level.
I mean, sure - sony brought it into the masses with the PS1 and PS2 but nintendo have thrown it into that next level.
The ending kind of annoyed me too, i mean - i had known for years that snake was going to die in MGS4 but they wimped out and didn't kill him off!
I mean come on, they could of at least let him die off camera and say, In the game he died.
Still, my favourite game this generation.
A prequel the events between MGS2 and MGS4, Raiden mentions a few times in MGS4 what he has been doing and i think it would make a good story.
I love metal gear solid, best game series ever - in my opinion. I too don't want a Metal gear _SOLID_ 5. I would love a new Metal Gear something, but if the story and scripts are not written by kojima - i can't see it being the same.
Actual online gameplay for both PSN and XBL are pretty much equal. Feature wise and the overall experience of XBL is much better than PSN.
