Apart from killzone 2 - you are wrong.
We're still very early in this generation, the PS2 and its games are still selling well which indicates people are still stuck in the old gen or just have a wii - when people start realising it is the 360 and ps3 which holds the real games that is when we can start judging, which is usually later on.
I'd say we should have a clear indication by 2010.
Yes, sony are somehow doing pretty well considering. We're still seeing strange decisions and lack of effort, it is better than it was last year they don't seem to be trying as hard as Microsoft are.
Maybe sony don't need to try as hard, sony have the advantage in terms of facilities, resources and experience - they're probably cracking the whip on their internal game studios securing the future.

In gears of war 2 is the stupid matchmaking system that even after the patch is stil pretty slow for me.

Halo is rubbish. GoW is much better and deserved the sales of halo, in my opinion.
Don't get me wrong though, i do know it is a good game - it just isn't my thing. They've done great things with halo, not just for xbox but for the whole online gaming community.

I know this sounds like a typical fanboy thing to say but, aslong as they sell enough over time to earn a profit, enough profit for that developer to continue making the games then i'm alright, i get to continue playing the games.

Sorry, what? Metal gear solid games only ever have sold around 4 - 5m and they were on consoles with install bases of nearly 10x more than the PS3.
MGS4 is currently nearing, if not already over 4m sales and it hasn't even been out for a year yet, i'd say its done very well.
