Well, I'm not sure about a takeover, as long as Sony has been in business and as many products they have on the market, you would figure that there is a profit to be made somewhere. Also, with the new video store coming soon, they should be able to turn a penny from that. If they would work on Episodic Games and PS1 and PS2 titles, that could be a cash cow right there as well. Just imagine all the money from FFVII and Chrono Trigger, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus... they would make a mint witho...
I think it's good news. I saw that post and didn't really mind so much, but it's a nice bonus. I just wonder if they are gonna have any program that enables you to change that sound to a, let's say, 5 second sample clip of your choosing? I only say this because, so far, they have been great at letting us customize our systems.

You know, I agree with the small fanbase thing. But I know of at least 5 people that would be getting it that I hang out with, so that's gotta mean it's got at least somewhat of a good following.... I don't know, I just really love that series and I'm with you on not splitting up the fanbase. Maybe it's small enough where MS won't try to buy it.
He has some clear cut signs for good video gamers, and others are just funny exagerations. Good read for sure. I agree with the controller one. I can play any system without ever looking at the controller. My roomate has to look at the PS3 controller, and he's an Xbox fanatic. The wii was the hardest one to get used to IMO. But even it's a peice of cake.

Anyway, when it's put in a nice package like this it makes it seem even more epic. I'm looking forward to going home and planning how to tackle my PS3 library. I gotta figure out which games I want to beat again, and in what order. I'm thinking Uncharted (if trophy supported) while taking breaks for MGS4 and Bourne Conspiracy...

It was a funny article. He played the games before, he just didn't like them. I see his point about cloning a clone, it's holds validity. I will be getting the game, I happen to enjoy them, but it was an opinion and an exagerated one at that. It's sarcastic gamer, it's funny. I thought it was hillarious when he referred to the game as a racing game because he looked it up on wiki.. classic.

I am excited. The features look amazing, the RPGesque leveling system is perfect for me. I love RPG's and they just made every game I play have a secondary RPG element... amazing.
I shoot real guns, I use my pointer finger to pull the trigger on a real gun. I use my second finger to pull the R2 button so I have the option of using the R1 button almost simultaneously. Yeah, that's right, I said it, I like the R1 button as my fire button, You don't fire a real gun with your ring finger, and in the heat of the moment, I always fire with my pointer, and wind up getting killed on the 360 as a result (doesn't happen often, but I prefer my PS3 controller anyday.)
10 hour RPG is probably the silliest thing I've heard of in a while. You can't even tell a proper story in that time. I'm used to 40 - 100 hours for my RPG's. But that also begs the question of why?
Why create an RPG and not make it as epic as you can? Is the the space constraints on the DVD. If so, why not make it multi disk? This makes no sense.
You know, I don't think I ever played suikoden V, I only got up through IV. I must hunt for this title, my credit card was getting a little cold in my pocket anyway :)

That is actually a likely possibity if the BC is an issue. It would make sense to charge us for a service that others had already paid for when they got BC capable PS3. I wouldn't mind the fee, especially the fee being optional, you could only win with this solution.
I don't think the network traffic will be any worse than usual. We have had big updates in the past, just because people are looking forward to this one more than the others, doesn't mean it's any larger. Another factor you have to remember is, most people are not like us (in fact I know a lot of people in my home town, and I'm the only one who actually sits and waits for an update like this) so it won't be too bad. It's not like all 13 or 14 million of us are gonna be sitting up waiting for ...
