I agree, originality isn't dead, it's just that we have firmware updates now, and they can see what market trends are, and try to make better that system. It's all good for us, as they are even more competetive now to have innovative products.
Wow, what a misleading title. After reading the article, the only reference to playstation it even makes is the O and X buttons. This is a Sony gaming phone. Seeing how half the people don't read the articles, this could get blown out quick.

Well, let's look at it this way, PS3 sales are about 3-4 million behind the 360 right now... Every month, the PS3 outsells the 360 by quite a good amount, especially in Japan and Europe, even in the states they have been beat for the year thus far. If they current trend continues (and it will) the PS3 should have the same install base as 360 by mid '09 if not sooner. Well, hopefully, they will just go ahead and tack on a couple hundred dollars to the price of this one and go ahead and take out that billion dollar insurance policy ahead of time. My roomate went without a 360 for 2 months since his broke the second week after release. While they are at it, maybe they will just package it in it's own UPS/Fedex packaging with permanant postage applied, that way, it will save me time when the new one dies on me over and over. I own an Xbox etownone, I'm not a fanboy, I want trophies for MSG4 and HS. It's a good idea, it's adds to replay value. And for the record, I can't play my Xbox, it's RROD and I haven't even bothered to send the thing off yet.
Oh, and 2.4 hits in the next month, and there will be NO DIFFERENCE in the services.. you'll pay and I won't, and that will be that. I don't have a gamertag, because I don't have Xbox live anymore, it's a waste of money when you have a PS3.

Game looks good, Diablo was amazing, so this should follow suit.
If I wanted all that equipment, I'd just get a wii... but I don't, so i got a PS3. I'm not buying into this. The motion controllers on the other hand... might be cool with HD, but that's about it.
Tennis games are a guilty pleasure of mine... they are so unpopular for the most part that I can usually just wait a few months (it's a tennis game... I don't really need it at midnight launch :P) and it'll be about 30 bucks.
Not having plans for hardware seems a bit shortsided to me. I wonder how long they plan to support the console before coming out with next gen?
I play on my plasma all the time, sometimes 16 hours at a time, with no problems. Plasma's can't permanantly have image retention, at least in the last three years.
A. Most plasmas not have some form of "Cell Shifting" that you can turn to either low medium or high settings.
B. LCD's have permanant image retention, where as Plasma's can be flashed.
My friends burned in his plasma with a 360. He turned his channels for about 30 minutes straight, change...
They will eventually leave the game business altogether, it's just a matter of time. They won't be in for the long haul, maybe another 2 systems, then they are out. But that in a way will hurt the industry in that, barring someone new steps up, there will be less competition in the market. It's a losing battle if they drop out, but they don't care about gamers, they care only for revenue.
