Well, I'll be ready for PS3's new console around 2012, but I won't get it then, I'll ride out the PS3's lifespan. I'll pick it up a year or so in, just like I did with this gen's systems. It paid off with 360 because I got a good one after all of the RROD crap blew over.
Well, if Microsoft says they won't drop the 360, it must be true :)
It seems to me to be a reasonable time frame for a new console, but you can't dismiss people's fear of MS turning on the consumers. They have a track record of shady business and lies to the people who support them. Not to mention the xbox drop. The two consoles are starting to blend a little anyway, with Sony picking up shooters and Xbox picking up Jrpg's. I got both, but I'm just used to playing those genre'...
Great game, one of the many prides in my collection.
It would be easy to make several other HS titles. It's a game about a sword, just tweak the gameplay a bit and change to another hot girl in a different period in time and there you have it. Easy. There are a lot of things they could do to improve on the first one, although I like the first one.
I hope it backfires too. If for no other reason than maybe they will stop spending resourses on this sh!t and start putting out some more great games.
More Kotaku anti Ps3 Propaganda. At least they quashed this rebellion before it got started.
I agree, the way of the samauri never really relied on graphics, gameplay is amazing though. But this is the Age of HD and this is a very powerful console they are putting it on
It's not hatred for a system I sense, it's not being able to relate to the system. I think the Wii is a blast, but it's not for someone my age (28). It's Nintedo doing what nintendo does best, raise a new generation of gamers. When you are good enough at games to move up to a PS3 or 360, you will. I know people from all age groups buy Wii's, that's not what I'm saying, I'm saying that Nintedo is marketing to new gamers, which most of us are not.
Video games are slowly giving up trying to build your ability to critically think. When most of us were kids, we had some sappy titles too (puss in boots??? anyone??? :P) but the wii is little more than a toy at this point. The bulk of it's games are for the most part more novelty, kinda like those glow in the dark condoms you see in gas station vending machines. It's more mindless repetition than teaching children how to solve complex puzzles like our early games made us do. The wii is a ...
I call shenanigans...
Just the fact that Playstation is doing so well in our struggling American Economy speaks volumes. Plus the average consumer didn't even know this game was coming out as there was VERY LITTLE advertising in the states. They actually just started an advertising push AFTER the 12th hit, which makes little sense but I'm not in marketing so who am I to say otherwise. A lot of people are still saving for the game after they just blew their load on GTA, and it's still selling really well despite ev...
If it reaches five million in sales, and let's say that 16 million PS3's by years end, then that's about 30 or so % of PS3 owners that will have bought the game, that's not bad at all. I'd say if 16 mil is the number, then there will be around 6.5 mil or so copies of MGS4 sold, 36% or so. That's a really good number regardless.
I expected a slowdown but cutting 2/3 of the PS1 games they are putting on there is pretty bad. Can't complain too much because we just got Syphon Filter 3, but still 4 titles in the last 6 months is rough. It may take time and R&D to create something original, but most of their PS3 titles came in part from older systems anyway (warhawk, Stardust)
First off this is just a rumor, and I refuse to believe that they are gonna just axe a potentially great exclusive, possibly iconic game. And for the sake of staying optomistic, I'm gonna go ahead and give Sony credit for being an intelligent company and go on record saying that I don't think that they will stop development of single player games. It just doesn't make sense to do so. Online is an added bonus to a single player experience, not the whole experience, but even if that's the case,...
I'm glad they reviewed them seperately. The online portion pales in comparison to the single. It might have brought overall scores for the game down if they had been scoring the online. It's ok, I played it for while, it's just not special like I was expecting it to be.
How do you change your face and body camo during a cut scene???
On topic, he did a good job of explaining the game. It reminded me of why I bought the game in the first place (hype) and then it reminded me of why I traded it in the same week. The game sounds good when you talk about it, but it plays like crap and it's just like the one's before it, exept crippled.
It's not that I don't want it sooner, it's that, most likely we won't get it before then. Hopefully it will be this week.
I dont' think 32 player online has much to do with it. It's neat, but not really needed in most instances. Improved graphics and sound I agree with however.
E3! I can't wait for trophies. It's the only reason I even consider picking up titles for my 360.
How bout Murphy Brown? :)
