Me as well. Currently playing FF16 and while I am really enjoying it, I would love to have the option to play at 4K 60fps instead of 1080p to 1440p at 30fps in graphics mode or 720p to 1080p at somewhere between 40 and 60fps in performance mode.
Before I hear the poor optimization excuse, FF16 is doing things that cannot be done on last gen consoles. To name a few are the lighting system (ray traced reflections/shadows), texture quality, more dense interactive environments ...
For some these kinds of games can become an unhealthy addiction. Hades is a fantastic game and I had a slight Hades addiction for a short time where I played it nightly. After an 8 or 9 heat run (don’t remember exactly), I realized I wasn’t having fun anymore and moved on.
A 64 heat run is extremely impressive, but also very unhealthy.
Google it if you refuse to take what I am saying at face value. Not my job to do for you what you can do for yourself when you demand.
It has been complaint of several developers even prior to the release of the console in 2020.
Many have and the most common complaint is the variation in VRAM between the X and S
Agreed, top 5 game of all time for me with over 200 hours played. However, I am hoping this doesn’t turn into a Skyrim situation where there are continued releases of the same game, and no new entries to the series.
One would think it might be worth playing the game first to make such assertions.
Is the game perfect? No, but when I play it I am having more fun than any other game I have played so far in 2023.
+1 and stop trying to silence people who simply want to do their job as parents instead of passing their job onto others in the public system.
So Xbox self described “next gen” base console cannot run a 13 year old game at 4K.
The casual consumer sees Xbox a a console brand, but Xbox doesn’t want to be a console brand. They want to be a subscription brand. Always chasing what the consumer doesn’t ask for.
I am glad an FF game is coming to Xbox for more players to enjoy, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Series sku are the last consoles Xbox ever produces.
I wish there was as well, but unfortunately I wouldn’t count on it at this point.
Due to the Series S lack of ram and power, developers are having a difficult enough time developing games that will run on both the X and S. How would developers be able to achieve any sort of parity between the S and an “X Pro?”
Microsoft has made it clear that the S is their base console. Consequently, I do not think a mid-gen refresh is viable option for Xbox.
I don’t know that it would have been considered GOTY, but there is some validity in your comment. If it were an Xbox Exclusive then expectations would have been much lower and the game likely better received. Not to mention it has been a long time since Xbox had released a AAA game.
Seeing as it was exclusive to PS5, the expectation of quality is much higher. The game was slightly better than average, but certainly not great.
On Xbox, it is highly likely ...
Agreed. I enjoyed Aloy in Zero Dawn, but the personality she has taken on after becoming “the savior” is in my personal opinion unlikable and unrelatable.
Not a good day for gamers/consumers.
I like the idea of a Black Panther game, but it is hard for me to get excited about anything EA announces. I have no faith in them.
So sad what this series has become. Could be great, but it functions as an FTP mobile game.
Yes please
Day one for me as well. Would like to utilize fidelity and performance mode at the same time instead of choosing one over the other.
It’s just sliders /S
As you said, as games become more complicated and if the parity clause remains, 3rd party developers will begin to skip releasing their games on Xbox. It is much to costly for developers to dumb down their vision or develop two different versions of a game for a platform that consistently remains in 3rd (last) place.
It feels like MS have backed themselves in such a corner with the S that they either need to go ahead and release their next gen console and drop the X/S skus ...
