That is fair. I enjoyed Hellblade but can definitely see how it isn’t for everyone.
Would like to see how Heavenly Sword would have turned out if developed today. It’s easy to forget that games like Heavenly Sword were unprecedented and in their infancy.

We can only vote with our wallet. Words are meaningless by comparison.
Is my physical library of Xbox games going to be compatible with “the biggest technical leap ever?”
Definitely not getting my hopes up with what will likely be a forced subscription service agenda.
Ocelot 07 you make such an excellent point. Nobody knows what this corporate speak truly means. It’s all a vague word game used in an effort to generate buzz and I can’t get excited about any of it. Reason being, the Xbox brand has overpromised and undelivered with their corporate speak for over a decade now.
Gamingsince 1981 I know this is a marketing strategy that is old as time itself, but it doesn’t mean it isn’t misleading.
The general consumer is typically less knowledgeable than the people on this site when it comes to tech. The general consumer tends to believe what is advertised on the product is the baseline for said product.
My LG G2 advertised 4K and 120hz. I understood when I made the purchase that the TV would only display 4K at 120 with compatib...
They promised you 4K 60? My day one PS5 box has a big 8K symbol on it and next to that a 4K 120 logo. My Series X day one box also has 4K 120 on the front. I knew that was an oversell by both but I thought surely with that kind of oversell the truth would be to at least consistently hit 4K 60. Needless to say, I was wrong.
And this was just the beginning of me being wrong this gen. I skipped Xbox last gen after watching the E3 presentation and they never gave me a reason to...
I echo this. If GaaS is the future, I’m going to the past.
I keep seeing this being to short complaint. I played the first game which took about 8 hours and enjoyed it.
If I’m being objective, I do not think I would have enjoyed the game loop of story, walking in search to solve a puzzle, fighting, rinse and repeat for 40+ hours. The loop would have gotten very stale imo.
I think 5 to 8 hours is a good runtime for this type of game. It needs to be a tight narratively driven experience. Plus I only have so much ...
He already used that excuse without naming Mattrick specifically. It was around the time Redfall came out and Phil started whinging about how the X1 generation was the worst possible generation to lose because that is when consumers became locked into a specific ecosystem. I am just watching to see how creative his next excuse will be. He has turned excuse making into an art form.
I wonder how much this guy gets paid to consistently fail.
They deserve every sale. This is gonna sound crazy but I purchased the digital version and ordered a physical copy just to support Larian and their business practices. I appreciate receiving a complete game with countless hours of experience and no micro transactions. Likely to leave the physical edition sealed as a collectors item.
Agreed. If development cost is truly the issue, I would rather pay a higher base price for a complete game instead of being nickeled and dimed over the span of months or years.
Additional skins used to be earned by playing the game multiple times and achieving multiple goals which added to replay value and fun.
Ever played the telephone game?
Agree that the generational gap is too broad to really make a strong list. Need to tighten the years a bit. Hard to compare Pac Man with N64 games.
Same hear. Last night in a dark room with an 83 inch panel. Was caught off guard but really liked the new animation.
The Hell House battle in Remake is great. It’s the first battle that they take the training wheels off and at that point you are forced to have a good understanding of the battle mechanics. Otherwise that house will whip your a@!
I believe it goes back to the old cliche of “misery loves company.” The lack of compassion is most likely coming from those who have not been able to find “success” or are generally unfulfilled. It makes them feel better when they see someone experiencing hardship or a lack of success. It’s sad and unfortunately part of the human condition.
Serious question, why are you angry at these people?
Let’s be honest. Was anybody hype for this game to begin with? All they did was make it even less appealing.
