I think PA is not looking at the broader picture. These sorts of restrictions and security mandates can potentially cause more harm than good and in that sense gamers have every right to both wary and frustrated by them.
After reading all of this I have a real problem accepting your username.
Certainly could not hurt to implement such tech with their next console, or possibly even the Wii U at some point.
I'm gonna go with trolling on this one. It's not like he had any valid points to back up any of those opinions.
1. You have every right to ignore the Mario franchise. While I agree Nintendo has been releasing a lot of Mario games as of late, you need to understand that there are people who reall like the 3D platformers in particular and don't want Nintendo abandoning them for a minority of people who say the franchise is oversaturated.
2. If you want new IPs, support the ones Nintendo puts out on the eShop. Seriously, if you're going to complain about new IPs and not support an...
Even if it is, it probably wouldn't be bad, you know. Retro's games are pretty stellar. I've yet to see them produce any crap.
An HD remake of Super Mario 64 coupled with a brand new 3D Mario experience wouldn't hurt.
While I do agree that the Wii U name is more detrimental than anything, it's been on the market for six months now. Changing the name at this point will only add to the confusion, especially for anyone who's still on the fence about getting one.
You're really going to pull that argument after the recent Wii U sales spike on Amazon UK? Besides sales do not equate to quality. The poor sales of the Vita/GCN/Dreamcast and the hit sales of crap like Justin Bieber albums already prove this.
@BlmThug
I think I'm well within my right to write off a console with a ridiculous focus on competing with television, mandatory daily online logins and a bar on all used games.
Also saying the Wii U "sucks" is a subjective opinion and sales don't mean crap. You know what else didn't sell well? The Gamecube, the Dreamcast and the Vita, yet gamers mostly seem to agree that those are all quality consoles. Your point is moot; if you're ...
@SilentNegotiator
Hey, it's his blog and the topic is still fairly fresh. But then you've had a habit of policing blog content in the past so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
Nah, you're thinking of the Xbox One. If anything the Wii U was rushed out too early.
EDIT: As for VC, I don't know what people expected exactly. I thought the launch was okay at best and worst. I'm put off by the lack of N64 games and that the release of first part content has been somewhat inconsistent (I guess they're making room for Capcom?).
Either way, the service is now out and we're getting new VC games weekly/bi-weekly. If that...
Aw, no Prime 1 credits theme? That's a BADASS track. So is the Vs. GFed Trooper theme from Prime Echoes. Not a bad list though!
Goes to show, Sony really wants what the core gamer wants.
A casual gamer probably doesn't know anything about it right now.
Considering all of the comments, I'm surprised I have so many disagrees. I doubt those trailers were not in engine. But that's why I made my comment. They look fantastic, but not quite on par with a CGI cinematic to me.
Give it another generation or two. The PS4 in particular is very close, but not quite there yet. We still don't have realistic motion blur or the kind of lifelike details you would see in, say, a Starcraft II cinematic (the pre-rendered ones, not the ones used for the game engine). When a game can look like this in its actual engine, then we are there.

Sany HAS been straightforward about that strategy. You can look up DragonKnight's blog on the matter. They have stated they will NOT bar used games, but they will give publishers the option to do so.
That's far from perfect (and I will not support any of those publishers) but the Xbox One is enforcing a universal block on ALL used games, whether or not the publisher wished for it.
If there's one good aspect about Nintendo being "behind the ti...
After the SNES, honestly no one should unless Nintendo makes a lot of changes to how they handle relations with third party developers. It seems for the time being they're focusing on indie devs.
You know, if any of the top comments had the decency to be backed by any sort of research, they would know that many games are priced considerably higher in Australia. This is hardly exclusive to Nintendo Virtual Console games. But naturally, as usual you have bozos like LOL_WUT taking advantage of the story and twisting the facts.
