I don't think that's the point.
To be fair, a lot of people were predicting the Wii U's failure. If anything, this is refreshing.
I made that mistake. Then I played it at Comic-Con. I'd seriously recommend playing it before judging it. It's not just some dumb shovelware game.
Uh, no. I didn't make that up. There have been a number of occasions where commenters have downplayed the off-screen feature. Now that we have a game that is confirmed to not use it, I'm annoyed that the constant complaining doesn't cease. You just can't please everyone anymore.
It's a main feature that is supported by Nintendo with NSMBU as well as by third parties with Mass Effect 3 and Darksiders II. Beyond that I really haven't heard which games ha...
So first we go from "I don't want to play on that tiny screen" to "Not EVERY SINGLE game has this optional feature?!"
It was actually announced early on that not every game would have this feature. Same as how not EVERY killer app DS game made proper use of its touch screen.
Honestly, chill out. Is it disappointing? Yeah. But this is a choice made by Capcom. You know, the developer. And Nintendo provided the freedom of choice for that....
It feels more to me like people taking the opportunity to piss on a billboard sign, which is pretty much what Geoff Keighly amounts to.
Using Eurogamer as an outlet for that is just sad given that it's, well, Eurogamer. I mean honestly, what is this accomplishing? A whole lot of nothing. The only people who seem to care are the people posting on the internet who are (thankfully) not among the majority.
It's fine if you see a point in all of this, but ...
That's a very good point. I guess it's especially important for anyone who's unfamiliar with Nintendo online or Monster Hunter games.
Why emphasize the bit about it being free? I'm pretty sure Nintendo never said anything about the service being a paid one. And this game ain't an MMO either.
Not complaining. It's just... odd.
Anyone who claims he speaks for me does not get a thumbs up in my book. He's a very arrogant person who gets stupidly angry about a lot of things that don't always really matter.
If you like him that's cool, but personally I think the guy is a brat and makes gamers look bad.
I guess I'm the only one who usually ignores stuff like this. I really hope this site doesn't start producing dozens of articles about this non-issue. It's not even really about video games.
What's even funnier is when you see people who view it as an undeniable fact and even try to provide "scientific evidence" that the world is coming to an end on a very specific date. No one knows when the date is, if it even is coming at all. The whole thing is bullshit.
I understand why people are quick to come to this conclusion, but is it so crazy to suggest that it really is stronger technology?
Or they can just do the smart thing and use an external HDD. Problem solved.
Right! That's why it's getting Bayonetta 2.
A new killer app game and some details on the online network.
"It's funny how much the Nintendo supporters want to downplay the truth"
Adversely it's funny how people seem to see negativity in everything. Especially in a non-issue like why the Wii was a success. It doesn't change my opinion that the Wii was a good system for both casual and core gamers.
You mean the same voice chat blunder that was completely overblown and the weak ass commercial that doesn't affect the console in any way whatsoever?
I'm not worried in the slightest if that's the case. The DS was initially trashed but it's now one of, if not the most successful dedicated gaming handheld, or even console in general in gaming history.
Reminds me when I had to make a whole new account to play Metal Gear Solid 4 online. Very annoying.
Eleven disagrees? Damn. People sure don't like facts around here.
