What other sites? IGN gave this game a 7.6. Aside from that I heard maybe one smaller website say the game was better but mediocre.
EDIT: I just checked Metacritic and I was right. Only three reviews are out so far, two middles and a positive. So as of right now I don't think suggesting the game is "getting shitted on from other sites" is all that accurate.
@firelogic
In case you're uninformed, it's not a straight up port. They redid and retooled much of the game and fixed many of the problems that people had with it. So to suggest it won't be at least a little better than the original is a little bit absurd.
There ARE other Wii U games. You know that, right? Razor's Edge is hardly the only one that would be at least decent at launch.
It's Jim Sterling. Unless it's Kirby or Call of Duty, almost all of his reviews that I read seem to be outright hateful.
Like anyone else's BC model is any better. Most PS3s don't play PS2 games and the 360's backwards compatibility is a joke. Many 360 slims can't even play original Xbox discs, only downloaded games.
Actually there is in-game cross chat. It's just at the discretion of the developers.
The Wii U Gamepad comes with a stylus.
I feel it could be done (and done well) if utilized properly. Not entirely sure how, but I would love to at least try aiming with the touch screen. Heck, I'll even take gyro controls like in Zelda OoT 3D and Resident Evil Revelations.
Come on, didn't you guys take basic english?
The subject of the sentence is the "lot." And there is only one "lot" (in this case, a lot of things). You don't describe a single thing with the word "are" which is meant to be used for something that is plural.
"There is a lot," is appropriate. In fact, much more appropriate than "There are a lot."
@Akuma-
How is the tech dated and overpriced?
@-Mika-
*is a lot
If you're going to be a troll, at least do it with proper grammar.
@Akuma-
Normally I'd say you're entitled to your opinion, but when you back it up with the same tired old misinformation that trolls love spewing around here, I'll simply respond with a "don't let the door hit your ass on the way out."
@cpayne93
If there's a minimap (like there always is) on the TV, then I don't think it would be much of an issue. Blops 2 also supports off-TV play, if I'm not mistaken, so you can use the screen that way.
I've played Metroid Prime Hunters on the DS and that game I felt was very precise. I would gladly take touch control in any shooter over dual stick control, but that's a preference of mine, hence why I say touch control CAN offer more pr...
So as not to raise the price of admission. Seriously, you can buy really cheap external HDDs off of eBay and Newegg for fairly cheap. Better than paying an additional $50 for a built in HDD that only has so much memory. I'll cite the Xbox 360's initial (and laughably small) 20GB HDD that did not even come with every model at launch.
1. Problem is depending on the situation, the Wiimote + Nunchuk combo can offer more precision. So can touch control if they go that route.
2. Refer to counterpoint 1.
3. Why would I attempt to switch classes while I'm still alive in a match? I thought it was common sense to do that after having been killed and waiting to respawn. At least on the Wii U version, you don't need to pause to do it.
4. Didn't bother to read it. Just wa...
Hear, hear.
Great job listing all of the older ports (save for AC3 which isn't even a month old yet).
How about Darksiders II or Ninja Gaiden III: Razor's Edge or Call of Duty Black Ops 2? None of these games are particularly old (or will be in Blops 2's case).
You're looking at this a lot more cynically than necessary, I think.
I think they mean it's optional to have for anything that only needs the Gamepad or Pro controller. Meaning unlike the Wii (assuming you don't have a classic controller) you don't need the damn sensor bar in order for the console to function.
Huh. A cynical Wii U article of which I can kind of understand the viewpoint.
I wasn't aware that Nintendo confirmed games that you download are basically mapped to the system. I really thought that was going to be over and done with. Hopefully if you have to migrate your Nintendo ID they'll let you transfer/redownload your games though.
I'm in my late 20's and I don't care about achievements either.
@BitbyDeath
In all honesty though you could have done that without the achievements to tell you do it.
I wouldn't know. Didn't read that review. I don't like usually like reading his material since I think he deliberately gives games certain scores for clicks.
For example, he gave Mario Kart 7 a 5/10 for being too much like previous games. Then later on he gave Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 a near perfect score for almost the same reason. This sparked some fire in the comments for both reviews. Since then I really haven't looked at too much of his stuff.
