To be fair he's not really on N4G. People just post articles about the stuff he says on occasion.
Okay? So you linked to a forum from a website that did an analysis of Wii U hardware on live stream. Why should I suddenly take their word as fact? Are they experts or do they just look at hardware and make what of it they can?
You've given me absolutely nothing official or definitive to work with. I'm not going to believe it at face value just because you say I'm unintelligent for doing so.
All the hate is based on THQ's one comment. Which they later retracted. http://www.destructoid.com/...
Yeah, they'll bring up DICE, but the guy at DICE said it based on what he had heard, not because he himself had any idea what the hardware was all about.
I saw that article. DICE didn't "collaborate" shit. A member of DICE said he had heard people in the industry who said the CPU was weak.
This means two things; the information he passed was based on someone else's experience, not his own. This also means that he may not have had any actual experience with the hardware itself.
This kind of misinformation is always what irks me the most about this community.
Oh by the way, THQ...
@jasobno
I love that your source is an anonymous forum post. Try again.
Caught in a landslide
Even though based even on its own tech it's hardly dated. FACTS?? WHAT ARE THOSE DERP??!?!?!?!
@Jinkies
Why would you trust the reviewer that brought us that Kane and Lynch scandal?
3DS didn't start with any sort of transfer options either. Now it does. Whose to say they won't update the Wii U to do the same thing?
Okay. Now how about a method that doesn't also indirectly provide people a means to download games illegally?
Not saying everyone does that, but there are plenty who do.
@kupomogli
The problem I have with Sterling is that he applies a lot of his own personal preferences to the review and in doing so writes misleading information.
For example, he stated that Mario Kart 7 was too much like the games before it. I'm convinced he only wrote this because he generally does not like the Mario Kart franchise. Mario Kart 7 brought back the coin system, kart customization, underwater and sky segments and finally they completely and ...
I think it's perfectly fine that there are people out there who like Sony and Microsoft a lot more than they like Nintendo.
But when Mika gets this many agrees I feel like throwing up.
Reggie doesn't make any games. He's a spokesperson, not a developer.
"Even Ubisoft says the system is over priced for what it offers and that is sad coming from a developer who works with the system directly."
They didn't say anything like that you misleading goober. They said they wished it was cheaper so it can spread out farther to the mass market.
Yeah when damn near every port has technical issues (as oppose to the one game that's coming from EA of all publishers) then I'll believe it.
The Wii U is not even that foriegn a concept in controller style. It's by and large a PS3 controller with a touch screen in the middle. That is honestly not such a bad thing.
Also I love how people will knock it one second and then praise the Vita the next; the latter of which has many of the same features.
Too expensive? It's a brand new console that's only slightly above hardware that's over half a decade old.
Secondly what exactly is the issue with pandering to more than one demographic? I thought appealing to more people was supposed to be a good thing.
And I would so play that game in a heartbeat.
They're successful for the same reason that Michael Bay movies are successful; they're mindless fun that's easy to get into and enjoy and a lot of people like that.
While I agree that there are games out there far more deserving of CoD's success, I don't think it's anything to get up in arms about. This is our industry and the only thing that will influence it is what publishers know people will spend their money on.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who seems to notice this. The big hits always come from troll fuel; essentially anything that can paint Nintendo and/or their products in any sort of negative light.
