I don't see how Wind Waker HD for the Wii U means no more remakes for the 3DS. That said, I think the conjunction approach works the best. Since it takes so long to release newer games, throw out some nice looking remakes to hold fans over. That approach has worked pretty well for Sony in the past. Still waiting for Sly 4? Try the HD collection. I think Nintendo could totally approach both of their current platforms the same way.

Well for starters, how about putting the GBA functionality from the original version into the gamepad screen? Perhaps gyro controls like in OoT3D? Those would be a nice upgrades, I think.

Because Sony simply let you transfer your PSP games to your Vita for free, right? Oh right, they didn't. Only Japan got that offer (which was not free, by the way) and fans in the West got jack.

Wind Waker was an extremely unique title to say the least. It took an established franchise, drastically warped its artistic style, gave it an open world feel, and created quite possibly one of the most epic renditions of the classic Link + Zelda vs. Ganondorf fight I've ever seen.
It also applied a lot of new ideas to established characters. The ReDeads for instance are pretty different in their designs, and the gadgets Link uses are nothing like in other games. Name me ...

I like that this author cited both negatives and positives and actually took an objective look at the matter. I do think the cynicism was unnecessary considering that people told Nintendo to bring on some core experiences and they managed to announce six in a single Nintendo Direct conference. Hopefully E3 (as well as further conferences) will take this approach even further.
Uh, guys? If that was the case then why is the 3DS doing as we'll as it is? Don't blame the market for the Vita's sale figures when the 3DS is coexisting with the IPads/iPhones/android market just fine.
