Preorder and get a beta code! Oh wait that's for games.
There are always companies giving something away. That doesn't mean the companies selling something are wrong to do so.
@garrett's 1.1.12 reply to me - You're still not forced to buy anything. Terrifying that people don't understand basic economics.
Bethesda raised the price of their combo meal. Big deal. If the price is a big problem for you, don't buy it. You guys act like your drug dealer is price gouging you for your fix.
A one year console exclusive full game is apparently nothing major, at least not in terms of moving consoles, so anything less than that can't possibly be major either. Timed DLC is especially silly no matter what platform it is.
Really excited about the game and I enjoyed the commercial, but it had no impact on my heart strings.
The internet is nearly always filled with disapproval about various things.
"...it implies people expect them to give everything away free"
There are comments and agrees above yours saying exactly that.
I'd love to see the footage of you or anyone else being forced to buy DLC at any price.
Some similarities, but still very different imo. I'll play both. Watching DIvision footage and seeing the Destiny comparisons made me play Destiny again after a break of a few months and I've had a blast, again. Division's PvP is definitely more interesting than Destiny's is to me, but I think both have cool and fun PvE.
Too late. I'm sold. Just gotta buy supplies tomorrow so I'll be ready to rock from 6am friday until whenever the beta ends. I know when it's supposed to end but the closed beta got extended so I'm hoping the same will happen with the open beta.
His point breaks down right away. People liking the game and being excited about an open beta is no indication of how much DLC they'll buy. No one is "falling into trap" by playing the game. Personally I rarely buy DLC and almost never buy season passes but I will be buying the season pass for this game.
And honestly man, everyone here knows gaming is a business, even the people who sometimes act like either MS, Nintendo, or Sony are saints.
"So it was basically incentive COD"
So… better than CoD then, which millions of people love.
Watching streams and YT vids I saw a little of what you're talking about, but not much, and when it happened I saw people use different spawn points and take the griefers down. The best place for rogues to be in the closed beta wasn't camping the entrances, but on top of the building by the parking garage because the beta boundaries made it easily de...
Same here. Installed and ready to go at 6am central time on friday. I see much more positive reaction than negative, and what I've seen already sold me on the game anyway.
@jb227 - Part of the coolness of Kratos was why he was doing it all, so unless the gods from some other pantheon start picking on him, which I think would be silly, there should be a different hero with a different reason to seek vengeance on their gods. Just my opinion, but I feel the Kratos story should be over.
3 was easily better than 2 imo, with the exception of 2's co-op modes though it could have used more variety in that area.
It reveals what it likes most about the PS4 or else it gets the hose again!

I'm very excited to play it. I'll be downloading the open beta as soon as possible and it will be torturous few days before I can play it. I'm preordered and paid off for the full game and glad I'll get a taste soon.
There clearly is a story, the online play isn't just killing other players, and there are examples of online only games that were "big hits". We'll see how this one turns out, but your logic doesn't hold up.
There are also many people who feel Destiny was and still is "so good". The way I see it, most games are playable offline with a campaign, and as a person who enjoys different gaming experiences I welcome games like Destiny and The Division...
@jb227 - "There are increasingly fewer traditional gameplay experiences on the market & that much seems to be a simple fact."
You seem to define "traditional" as "games jb227 likes". As an old school gamer (the Atari 2600 was my second console) what I see is more variety than ever existed before for a home console gamer. Old school games, or at least games that are reminiscent of those old titles, new games that build on what came previously,...
"How are you supposed to play dozens of hours of The Witcher 3 when there are people to see, things to do, music to hear, films to watch and books to read."
Just like everything else in life, you have to prioritize.
Never underestimate the value of feeling superior to people who disagree with you.
