Opinions…
Demon's Souls is still the best in my view.
Anyway, did they say BB was the "best game ever" or did they simply give it a 10? I'm not a fan of perfect scores in general but BB was easily my GotY last year so if I gave any game from last year a perfect score it would be BB.
I've watched a lot of Division beta footage lately, and GameSpot's was easily the worst of the "big" gaming sites. There were so many moments when they didn't know what they were talking about. Several random YouTube and Twitch personalities did a much better job.
Post launch support and added content aren't exactly unusual these days, so why in this case do you think it means "EA is trying so hard to keep the game relevant"?
The Division has reminded me of Dying Light, SOCOM, and Escape From New York, but I've never once thought about 9/11 when watching footage of the game. If the plague had been started by crashing a plane into the city and releasing the biohazard in the explosion I guess I could see the writer's point, but as it is there are too many other terrorist incidents around the world in too many other cities for me to think about 9/11 any time I see a fictional terrorist attack in a book, game,...
I liked Dead Space 3. Didn't care for Mirror's Edge so this sequel doesn't interest me either, but I know many here will want to play it so s'all good. No game is for everyone.
Good point
@Austin - I just think it's ridiculous to say that almost everything requires this when it's clearly not true. Not even close, really.
OT - Weird, but shorty is probably right. Data collection.
Realistic? Tom Clancy games have been getting less and less realistic for years. The new Rainbow Six is not much like the originals, though it's more like them than the Vegas games were that's for sure. Anyway games don't have to be realistic to be fun. Normally more realistic = less fun, but that's my opinion.
The game can be played solo, but you do have to be connected so I won't argue that point. You don't have to pay $100 to play it though. I'v...
I preordered and completely paid the game off after simply watching the beta. Looks like great fun to me. The only thing a reasonable person can possibly tell from a beta is whether the basic gameplay appeals to them or not.
"Mark my words, people will be bored of the game after two weeks."
Mark my words, you're very very wrong about that.
Also, just because an early gameplay demo showed Brooklyn doesn't mean Brooklyn was cut from the final game. That little bit of Brooklyn (basically one or two blocks) might very well have been all that was playable at the time and shortly after that they decided to use manhattan instead. Changing content during development lik...
"...leaving some players cold"
Can be said about every game that ever existed.
In other words, not exactly a thought provoking opinion.
Good coffee
9/10

Better find a new trusted source, unfortunately.
People saw a very early bit of gameplay, that was probably literally one street put together just for that purpose with nothing else explorable, and assumed that all of Brooklyn would be in the game. What should they say to people like that? They obviously thought about having Brooklyn be a major area, then changed their minds as development went on, for whatever reason. Ubisoft wouldn't be the first to drop various features as a game takes shape, and they won't be the last. I'm n...
"not saying anything is just making them look bad to be honest."
Not really, to be both honest and rational.

Regarding the map, you might find this interesting. I did anyway. The guy's voice reminds me of Skyrim. xD
I disagree that all the "cool" stuff is gone or diminished. The game looks awesome as is.
@William - "It was underpowered when compared to the Xbox 360"
What…?
OT - Of course it will. Whether developers will actually do that is another thing. Most games are very derivative of what has come before and I expect that to continue.
HL2 was great, but I disagree that certain things in gaming haven't massively improved since then. Sure, much of it is cosmetic, but immersion has undoubtedly been greatly improved by better graphics and sound alone. Better AI is also a biggie.
"VR will always be a gimmick. I highly doubt it will ever take off"
VR will eventually be huge, there is very little doubt in my mind.

Ah ok I see what you're saying about the 10 and "best game ever". It could very well be the best game ever in their honest opinion, even if you or me or anyone else disagrees. I tend to agree with you that a perfect score should mean a perfect game but that simply doesn't exist and never will, so we can either never give those scores out or we can say they mean that the game is pretty damn great. Again, opinions.
