"Hows is it diverse to be almost like all other games today , online only\ multiplayer"
That's a huge exaggeration. All games aren't online only multiplayer, in fact most aren't.
My soul cried out in horror when she died during my first play through.
The music is unusual for a space game, but if you check out the Firefly TV show or its movie extension Serenity, they are a combo of western and sci fi and this music wouldn't be too out of place in them. There does need to be more tracks though.
Fun game imo. I don't play it for long stretches but I like to do a few missions every day, along with some random asteroid mining. Keeping my nose clean so far but I'm sure I'll eventually go rogue.
I guess I should give this game another try. The beta didn't do much for me but maybe I didn't stick with it long enough. I prefer the air battles of War Thunder, and haven't even tried the tanks of that game so maybe I'm just an air combat kinda guy.
"what is the balance between cinematics/story and gameplay in games today? What should they be? It's an important question to be asked."
No it isn't. It's entirely subjective.
Whether the article itself is click bait or not, that headline certainly is and you know it.
I see the reviews for this are all over the place. I watched some videos, decided to buy it, and I like it. So far I'd give it at least 4/5 or 8/10, if not higher. Things can go wrong quickly, but I like watching the astronauts faces as they start to freak out from the stress.
Uncharted didn't have trophies when it released either.
OT - Does Sony set prices for third party games?
Nope, so who's to say that Sony's first party PS2 remaster prices weren't chosen after seeing what third parties wanted for those old games? It could also be the other way around, but either way as usual it's what the market will bear. If enough people are upset about the prices, those games won't sell. I'm betting that, again ...
Great game, as long as you come to it with the knowledge that it's an MMO, with all that implies. There are exceptions to the MMO stereotypes, but there are reasons why they are exceptions and not the rule. The only reason I stopped playing was the huge install size. Needed that space and didn't play often enough to justify keeping it installed. Elder Scrolls Online and GTA5 just recently got the same treatment for the same reason.
@Grubster - "I see what you tried doing there, insinuating that PS is mainstream…"
At best it could be said that both XB1 and PS4 are mainstream, at least in the US, but saying PS isn't mainstream is just plain silly talk. If the strict definition of mainstream is used, and the gaming population of the planet is taken into account rather than a small part of it, PS fits the definition better than XB does. It's debatable whether being mainstream is a good thi...
Gamers who base their purchases on length miss out on some stellar titles imo. They also buy lengthy trash at times. But, whatever… their money and their leisure time.
While the porn industry has helped several new technologies catch on over the years, PS4 vs XB1 isn't the same situation at all. These aren't two different competing techs vying for consumer adoption. The porn industry backed VHS over Betamax and undoubtedly helped VHS in that battle, but with BluRay vs HDVD the porn industry used both until consumers decided what they wanted. Porn's relation to PS4 vs XB1 is more like that latter situation. A sign, not a cause.

"That is a copout. Many games this gen are no more complex than games of last gen. The major difference is just better graphics."
That is an oversimplification.
"This gen every single game is shipped unfinished and broken requiring multiple patches."
That is false.
OT - I preorder when there's some bonus I want, which is pretty rare, and when I want to have the game paid off so I can simply walk in and...
Uninformed fanboys are always easy to spot.
"that is your console generation folks. where 1080p HAS to be confirmed…"
Except... it doesn't have to be confirmed. It's simply news, just like it was last generation, and the generation before that when the advantages of the XBox version over the PS2 version were reported, and the generation before that when a game came to PS1 after being on the Saturn. These stories are nothing new.
N4G isn't "the gaming community".
For Square, short term, yes. Long term, we'll see but it will definitely sell quite a few more copies.
For MS, yes, though they have plenty of money to throw around so it's not like it hurts them, or XB1 for that matter. It just didn't translate to closing the sales gap like they undoubtedly hoped it would.
"Did someone explain to you how the holidays are part of the whole year?"
He does play the counting game after all, but he only counts the holidays.
Anyway, he's just pushing buttons. He knows he's being silly.
Wouldn't a new Nintendo console be the start of "next gen", not a new participant in the current gen?
Last gen = Wii, PS3, 360
Current gen = WiiU, PS4, XB1
Next gen = NX, ?, ?
If they want to push VR to consumers other than gamers they should announce things like live sports or music events for VR. Maybe a strip club app...
No, you don't get to make that call. Each consumer gets to make it for themselves.
