The reviews are actually pretty much on par with what GT4 got (which is sitting at about an 89 average), and we all know what a truly amazing game that was. Like you say, nobody should be concerned with the reviews, and anyways, I don't really understand what everyone is complaining about because GT5 is averaging in the upper 80's right now which is a FANTASTIC score for any game, not to mention that GT games have always scored in the upper 80's to mid 90's range (with GT3 sit...
I can't wait, I feel like a little kid again on Christmas day! :D
Even with Google Translator's usual half-assed job, that first paragraph was beautiful.
There's a very marked difference between this reviewer and the French one; this guy seems as if he actually has a passion for cars and racing sims, which makes all the difference in the review.
What worries me is that reviewers will rush through quickly, not unlocking full damage as a consequence, and will in turn spread misinformation to the masses. It's a bit of a tricky situation.
None of those novelty cars have carried over from GT4, I'm afraid.
So the entire point of this article was that GT5 may not be relevant because there are lots of arcade racers on the market and people will buy GT5 thinking it to be an arcade racer and will be disappointed because it's a simulation?
....Please someone hit me up with some of what this guy is smoking.
...I'm fairly certain that the Benz and the Model T are not making a return from GT4 into GT5.
I get what you're saying, but I don't think that it is applicable in the case of GT5. We've seen from gameplay videos that the graphics HAVE improved over Prologue, and they are still miles ahead of any other racing game out there.
I don't think that changing times warrant such a drop in score.
This same website gave Prologue a 19/20 for graphics. Are you trying to tell me that the graphics have taken a considerable leap backwards between Prologue and the full GT5?
Because if you are, then you have some serious problems.
He's not reviewing it in a day though. In the article he states that although the review embargo lifts tomorrow, he will not post his review until later in the week so that he has time to go through the game more thoroughly.
Good to see there is still SOME integrity left in the game journalism industry...
"Cant believe people are hyped for this game. Its just as bad as that flight simulator crap on pc"
You seem like a right old self-centered prick so I'm going to tell you a little secret... Not everybody has the same tastes as you! *gasp* I know, I know, mindblowing stuff right?
I don't know how you survive in this world if you believe that everything should be tailored personally towards your tastes.
Embargo lifts Wednesday. It's because the online portion hasn't been activated so reviewers haven't been able to critique the whole game.
A user on Neogaf and GTPlanet who got the game early posted it, along with other similar photographs from the same photoshoot. Just goes to show you how damn good the GT5 engine is.

Probably? Mate, it's sitting stationary in the middle of a picturesque plaza in front of a restaurant; of course it's from the photo mode! :D
Absolutely stunning, nonetheless. I shall be spending just as many hours taking photographs as I will racing!
So that's why it's a standard model. I agree that it would have been nice to have it as a premium, but it isn't the end of the world, and if I may say so... even as a standard model it still looks pretty damn good!
Not to seem like a dick... But you both seriously couldn't tell that that was water?
I'm thinking that we just got a glimpse of the dynamic weather; it had probably been raining during the race previously and then stopped, leaving a wet track.
Knowing the high quality and standards that PD creates things to, this is one of the few games where I actually support and will readily buy DLC.
I feel like game covers, in general, are starting to turn into the typical boring covers that we see on movies nowadays. With each new release, I'm seeing an increasing tend towards the boring 'main characters standing in front of some sort of generic background/action scene' rather than creative and original ARTwork (emphasis on the art).
Of course this isn't the case with every game (the handheld games have managed to keep things interesting, as you can see ...
As far as GT5 goes, Kotaku has the most ignorant and spiteful community out there. Seriously, just go into any GT5 article, positive or negative, and read the comments.
Trying to discuss something with 90% of N4G is like trying to hold a discussion with a mentally disabled person while trying to discuss something with 90% of Kotaku is like trying to discuss something with a stuck up elitist prick. Neither is very good.
Well said my good man. The amount of trolling going on today is probably actually helping the game; I mean, GT5 has got to be pretty damn good for the trolls to be this desperate and pathetic!
And right on about the proper fans being too busy. The only reason I'm still here is because I haven't gotten myself to the store to pick up my copy yet! Once that happens, I don't see myself doing anything else other than playing GT5 for a looooooong time.
