i always love how South Park handles videogame references, the WoW episode was amazing.. the Wii episode was so funny/weird, and now this, i was like "look it's CALL OF DUTY!!!" when i watched the beginning of the episode lol. giddy like a schoolgirl.
i think most people knew this, since Sony has been saying this since summer at least..
but good stuff, i love trophies and i think it's a genius idea (playing games being a MMORPG in itself, leveling up etc), and i guess i have to give some props to Microsoft for coming up with achievements!
IMO those GeOW commercials are just horrendous, the one advertising the first game using that popular song from Donnie Darko (INXS cover "Mad World" by Gary Jules) annoyed the HELL out of me, they totally raped that great song, and it didn't fit the game AT ALL. i mean, the lyrics go something like "in school i was very nervous, no one knew me" etc... and then you see macho space marines shooting aliens. wtf.
the commercial i've seen for GeOW2 isn't much bette...
oops, double post.
anyway, you're right on.. i wish more gamers appreciated variety and more unique games :/ though i still love games like cod4 also.. but what really makes gaming great are those one in a million (well not quite) games like Mirror's Edge, SotC, Bioshock, LBP etc.
bubbles+
i dunno about you guys but sometimes it's really hard NOT being a fanboy.. i mean, the temptation is certainly there, when owning just one console.. you have to admit it lol
"...because for one its gonna be both on the ps3 and the 360. That would put it into a market of at least 50 million people when the game actually comes out. I believe WOW only has 10 million people."
umm, and how big is the potential market for WOW? how many people have PC's and Mac's..? a bit more than 50 million don't you think? (i was going to say at least a billion but suddenly i'm not so sure about that lol.)
"limited" editions are never really all that limited. isn't that obvious to EVERYONE?
doesn't look too interesting to me (yet, at least)...
but i admit it, i would buy it in an instant if it was released on PSN, because i actually loved GTAIV and would like more, for sure. but oh well, it's just dlc.
YES!! i was SO waiting for this! and smart move letting National Geographic publish it, should give the game some more positive attention.
way too many games i want to buy right now, but Afrika still interests me and i was hoping for an English language release. good thing ps3 is region free so i can import it :)
one of the main reasons i bought a PS3... "ICO3" will be stunning.
yea umm... so... as a "playstation gamer" i'm supposed to be disappointed in LBP as a game because they're not advertising it as much as they should?
i fail to see the logic.
damn, i havent been the biggest Killzone supporter but i'm really really starting to warm up for this game... seems like they are putting all their effort and care into making the game great. everything feels spot on, and graphics are so far beyond what we've seen in console fps games it's mind-boggling. gotta love those hard-working dutch devs.
i think i'm finally ready to say goodbye to COD4.
yea i noticed that too.. LOVED the sound effects.
even i as a ps3 fan don't believe the game is that bad.. probably not bad at all.
this is just one of those "hey look at us!" reviews, just like some site that gave LBP a 7/10 (lmao).
hmmm, really interesting!
just the other day i was thinking about why there is no standard AI "engine", like there are physics engines like Havok and Euphoria. maybe this will be it, coming from the U.S. army? i wouldn't have guessed, but it makes sense, war drives technology, sad as it is...
when i was young, one of the neighborhood kids was called "Boku", because he used to think boxers are normal shorts, and he wore them to school etc..
i'm not sure how someone twisted the word boxers into Boku though lol, but it happened. (also i'm finnish, but the word is almost the same in our language, "bokserit")
pretty obvious that this was a diplomatical score.. they didnt want to piss off any fanboys by giving GeOW2 and Resistance 2 the same score. i know i'm not the first one to say this but still, there's NO WAY that IGN didn't notice they gave the exact same score, and decided that it was a wise thing to do. the odds of two similar, MASSIVELY hyped games going against each other getting the same score of 9.5... dunno, call me crazy or paranoid or whatever.
but meh, i don't REALLY ca...
i pretty much agree with what people have suggested, but i still want to give some props to Ubisoft Montreal, i LOVE Ass Creed and Far Cry 2 and i think they are underrated just because of the repetitive (but enjoyable) gameplay. both games are TECHNICALLY very very impressive, and i love games that impress me the way these games do. also both are pretty original and introduce new ideas. Ubisoft doesn't suck 100% imho.
seriously wtf is up with the Dead Space DLC? all that random crap costs like 25-27 dollars (counted fast)... for some new weapons and armor that should've been in the game in the first place?? yeah right, i'm gonna buy all that..... single weapons should be WAY CHEAPER, maybe 10 cents. all weapons for 1 dollar. then i might buy them out of curiosity.
