anyone else have a totally sick love/hate relationship with MGS4?
when i played the first 2 acts i was like "WOW BEST GAME EVER!", seriously it really felt that damn good, i can remember some of the most exciting gaming moments i've ever had, especially the very beginning when the opening cutscene turns seamlessly into gameplay and there's geckos and rebels running around (CRAZY exciting). also the taking sides mechanic was completely new and just great.

what's all this kiddie game talk? i'm 26 and i'm going to play LBP with my 23 year old girlfriend (if i can convince her, she usually prefers GTA and survival horror lol), and a couple friends that are over 30.
little kids wouldn't even be able to appreciate how well made this game is.. they'll just love the fun gameplay and characters, while the older audience will (also) love how technically brilliant this game is.
i think Killzone 2 will be "only" like 92-94 on metacritic, a couple of sites will give it a 88-89 score.

like EVERYONE is saying, it's not only the ps3 version that has glitches. go look at Bethesda's forums.
secondly, no it's not a trend. all my ps3 games work just fine from start to finish. also if i really wanted to, i could play COD4 for 20 hours straight without fear of freezing, disc read errors or an overheating console. so ummm, nothing feels "broken" about the experience of playing on ps3. ON THE CONTRARY.
finally get to see actual gameplay! so this is what has gotten a lot of game journalists excited.. can't blame them, game looks pretty as hell. i LOVE the animations. realism like this just really impresses me. cant wait to play through the whole game with my jaw on the floor.
btw, imagine a Silent Hill game with this graphics engine...
to be honest, 420 hours is way too much for an FPS game.. i really don't have the energy for that.
but yeah, who says you have to complete it 100%. i'll just play it as long as i feel like it. just sucks though that there's absolutely no chance of getting all trophies etc.
i personally have quite a lot of disgust for hype like this.. no matter what platform a game is on, MGS4 hype pissed me off, GeOW2 hype pisses me off..
ok as a ps3 fanboy i admit, MS hype pisses me off more :P (mountain dew campaigns etc, just going way overboard generally)

the amount of hype doesn't determine the quality of the game... unless you're a sheep and just love to follow others.
gears 2 will not be a 100/100 groundbreaking new experience, as already has been stated in some reviews (bad story, unsatisfying final battle etc).

also, i have played both Saints Row games and they are indeed soulless, have no entertainment value for me whatsoever. i dont care about katanas or shooting poo at people (the kind of gameplay you think is "fun").
LBP couldnt be on the Wii, it would have to be a totally different game.
don't be fooled by the "kiddie" look of the game, it is very demanding of hardware and it's pushing the PS3 quite a bit with all the insane physics calculations and crips textures and such. the wii wouldnt even be able to handle HALF of the game, im sure.

all this weird Saints Row 2 hype is making me a HARDCORE GTAIV fanboy, i will defend the game to death against a totally TASTELESS and technically WEAK game like SR2! i have nothing but disdain for these types of copycat games that have NO originality or even the slightest feel to them that they were made by developers who LOVE their product and really give it the attention it deserves.

seriously, that goddamn bear... i almost couldnt play through it, knowing a fricking huge ass bear is somewhere in the creepy lodge cabin with me.. seeing mutilated and half-eaten human bodies lying around. hearing the bear grunt from somewhere near... i had to pause the game a couple times to try to relax lol. and ...
why did the reviewer sound so damn uninterested in the game? he wasnt really giving it any praise at all. did anyone else notice this? just weird, considering the great score. also it was a shorter review than usual.. and the game has a HUGE amount of content... uhh. really a pathetic attempt at a review.
also, why do GT pretty much always give a score just 0.1 points below the metacritic score? to ps3 games that is. i remember Uncharted was the same, it was 90 at the time on met...
well to be honest, resistance 1 didnt exactly push ps3 to the limits.. it wasnt that hard to improve it. (but yea apparently they improved it A LOT)

what really is the problem with installing games?! i dont get it.
for example: install MGS4, play it through a couple or more times, remove the install (your game saves are separate and stay intact), then move on to the next game. it's not that hard...
i have a 60gb ps3 and i have Siren (10gb lol), GTAIV, Far Cry 2, Skate and Oblivion currently installed, a bunch of DLC, demos and PSN games.. plus a thousand mp3s, dozens of trailers, a collection of photos etc... and...
who cares what surpasses Halo?
i want to see something surpass COD4.. KZ2 might have a chance!
