...and actually the move to bridge the gap between console/PC with DX12 and such now benefits every indie dev. Make a game for PC or Xbox...and INSTANTLY you have the other market....sounds like a GREAT benefit for a small dev with not a lot of manpower to me.

If you look at the stats they provided..it's because something like 70% of PC gamers ALREADY have an Xbox. PC gamers aren't dumb enough to think that EVERYONE wants to spend the money to make a powerful enough rig to make the jump to PC gaming...and they still like playing with their friends that go the console route. If anything, this allows those PC gamers to carry their progress from console to PC (like in the case of QB...and I'm sure other games to follow). The OPTION to up...
NO, I have all the consoles and a gaming PC. X1 does all my heavy lifting even though I love them all. If anything...all of this is making X1 pull further away as my lead console.
There is literally NOTHING wrong with the OPTION to upgrade your console with total backwards and forwards compatibility...there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with crossbuy/crossplay between PC/X1...it opens the market up to a wider audience that makes the MS gaming division more powerful/profitabl...
I'm not so much against delays myself...if they are for a legit reason, like making sure the quality of the game is up to par. In this case, that's not why they are doing it...it's due to a problem that was COMPLETELY foreseeable, but just overlooked. More to the point, it's mostly just the hypocriscy I have an issue with. Many of the same people that have been saying "bravo ND" for this, are the ones that jump down the throats of ANY other game dev.
I have no reason to think it will be bad. It has to be better than 3. I will admit based on the limited amount I've seen that i will end up likingRotTR more just simply due to gameplay...but by no means will UC4 be a slouch. That being said...if somehow it is crap...even saying so would get you lynched. It'd be similar to saying "The Last of Us was good but not great".
Oh come on...stop giving UC4 benefit of the doubt that NO OTHER GAME gets. Games that don't even have a solid release date get crapped on for getting delayed....this game has been "delayed" a few times...and the last time was a solid date..due to manufacturing????

You don't NEED one....but why not get one ? Either pay for a super expensive computer...or get a console. I have all three consoles and a gaming PC right now.....i still plan on keeping my Xbox as my lead console for the foreseeable future. All these announcements actually made the Xbox MORE impressive. If the plan is to bring all games to and from Xbox/pc....and console is more accessible to people...and now console upgrades make buying a powerful enough computer even less interesting.. ...

Hold the presses!!! A STORE in the UK is buying back Halo 5 for SLIGHTLY less than other games released in the same time frame....quick write an article trying to downplay Halo 5!!! Well...I can tell you that here in California, that is NOT the case at all. Halo 5 is still selling for more than any other game released in the same time frame....hell...today USED Halo 5 costs more than new Fallout 4 today.
Not to mention, MOST Halo 5 sales were Digital, was that considered? ...
They actually showed the true FOV in this video...the fact that you couldn't tell speaks volumes. I'm sure the FOV will be a full 180 or more by gen 2, but even with the current FOV...it's damn impressive. Stop your pointless damage control. If it's gonna fail...it won't be because of your post on N4G based solely on your opinion.
I can't wait to get my hands on the consumer version of this, I was even debating getting the Dev version. EASILY the most ambitious and impressive tech as far as HMDs go. I love that it's a stand alone computer that isn't ONLY for gaming. True, it will take a little bit to reach it's full potential...like all the HMDs the first gen will be rough, but it'll really start to shine by the second gen. I can't wait to see some of the things they do with this.

Graphically maybe, but nothing will replace having a console in the living room/bedroom...unless these games connect to a controller via blu-tooth/Wi-Fi...then project the game to a HMD while the phone just sits in your pocket.
That being said, it's already been confirmed here on n4g several times that software won't make up for hardware.
Proof that console exclusives going to PC will kill console gaming.
