Their aren't any "must own" games for the system yet. Nintendo has a past history of great sales for handhelds dating all the way back to the original Gameboy.
Once better games are released everything will be fine. Also that $250.00 pricepoint isn't helping and current DS sales are also eating in to new 3DS sales.
Nothing is future proof. Both the 360 and PS3 are showing their age and have fallen well behind PC's. If anybody thinks either the 360 or PS3 will outsell each other by a huge margin I would like to take a drag off of what they are smoking.
I do agree that both the 360 and PS3 need to be profitable. But I also don't think the PS3 will overcome the gap in the US before the next generation of consoles launch.
Feel better now? So many people get too emotional over sales on this site. Better to own multiple consoles so you can worry about the games instead...
Tell that to the the people who bought the Xbox 360 the last 5 years before Kinect was launched.
It's obvious to everyone that Kinect is being used to help expand Microsoft's install base and they know that their bread and butter are the hardcore gamer that built up their install base. It would be ignorant on Microsoft's behalf to discontinue support for the 50+ million Xbox 360's that they have already sold just to push Kinect.

As for your comment. Well the original Xbox was pulled after 4 years. The 360 has been out for 5 years now and is arguably selling better than ever. They have already doubled their install base from last generation.
So I think both 360 owners and Kinect owners will enjoy their console for several more years. Especially if Microsoft actually backs up its statement that Kinect will give the 360 5 more years of lifespan.

Fair enough. I have been a game since 1981. I have pretty much owned just about every console made. I actually bought the 360 first this generation just because I didn't to wait a year for the PS3. Because last time I checked the 360 was the number 1 selling console for 6 straight months in the US. Even more than the Wii. Not once has the PS3 outsold the 360 in the US since the Slim released. So while you are running your mouth provide links please.
My reference to GT5 was in response to every single Sony fanboy who claimed that 4 years in the PS3's lifecycle that people were actually numbering in the millions waiting to buy a PS3 console just for GT5's release....
Funny thing is that one year lead is STILL a lead. I mean didn't Sony sell over 100 million each with the PS1 and PS2. Didn't they spank the competition 2 generations in a row? I have been visiting this site for the past 4 years. This isn't about sides. You can say 360 fanboys always claim sales. But PS3 fanboys are just as bad when Sony is leading in sales. Everybody does it.

I own all 3 consoles. I am guessing I am one of these "real" gamers you are speaking of. I'm here to tell you and everyone else that sales do matter. All 3 console hardware manufacturers are in this business to make money. Game developers are in this business to make money.
If Microsoft isn't selling consoles, peripherals, Kinect, XBL, etc... then they lose support from 3rd party developers. Trust me to them and to loyal 360 owners SALES do matter.

All 3 console manufacturing companies report shipped figures. Any hardware or software shipped to a retailer is considered a sale. Now we have Butt Hurt Sony fans claiming a channel stuffing conspiracy. Some people on this site need help.
All of you haters do yourselves a favor. Be a dual console owner so you don't have to be jealous of the competition. Sales don't matter to me anymore as a result.

On topic: I believe the games for Kinect will continue to get better. There is no way Microsoft would invest this much time and money into releasing Kinect and not give it the proper support.
Casuals were spending $249.00 USD on a Wii when it first launched. Not to mention if you got a second Wiimote you pretty much just spent the same amount of money as a 360/Kinect Bundle.
90 percent of the above comments are trolling. I guess that is a true measure of Kinect's success. As a proud owner of Kinect, I look forward to the announcement of new games for the peripheral. I also have a strong belief that Microsoft will continue to provide both 1st and 3rd party support for Core gamers. E3= WINNING for everyone.
