You go through the history of the past 5-6 years and you can find anywhere on the internet that multiplication developers have issues programming for the PS3 vs the 360. Maybe it has become easier over time but it is proven when developing for both consoles that the 360 is easier and thus cheaper to develop for.
Now in the case of Sony's First Party Studios then yes they can say the PS3 is easy to program for because that is the only platform they have to make games for....

Microsoft didn't abandon anybody. They don't have anywhere near the quantity or quality of internal software development teams like Sony and Nintendo does. So they rely on 3rd party multiplatform games and certain exclusive deals like Gears of War. They are creating more internal studios so be patient.

Sony is not doing perfectly fine. They went from a stock market value of 100 Billion dollars in 2000 down to 18 Billion dollars in 2012. That is over 80 percent of their value lost in the past 12 years. Most of the damage done since 2005.

I think what timotim is trying to say is that Sony lost money on the PS3 as a whole. No matter how much the games division has profited the last 2 years it will never make up for the 5 Billion plus in losses the first 3 years. Then you factor in the money PSN lost due to being hacked and shut down and the 50 dollar price drop this past year and I think you can make the argument that the PS3 is not a successful product from a financial point of view.
