You don't care but no-one should care that you don't care! It's not you whose very similar likeness has been used! Such similarities are unlikely to be entirely accidental when you're talking about a videogames studio who will relatively savvy on the film stars of today.

I liked all the Sony speakers e.g Mark Cerny and Jack Tretton. They struck a warm tone and their games line up truly has something for everyone. The Share button impresses me a lot.

Microsoft presumably strike a warm tone if you happen to be an American who's a sports and TV fan who doesn't really do much else except FPS and racing games.

It seems that I have never had an easier buyer decision than this generation.

The WiiU is off my radar compared to the competition.

The Xbox One may potentially come up with some interesting ideas for Kinect 2.0 but since they haven't told me what that might be... And never been bothered about playing Halo. And liked some of what Rare did but it's been so long now. Killer Instinct may be a fan service game but a) it's not being made by Rare and b)...

I know that, when you have a fat Xbox controller in your hand, it can feel more domineering to your war-themed FPS player.

By comparison, when the PS3 first launched without a rumble feature, the controller probably seemed far too slight and intended mainly for genres that were no longer the best selling ones.

But when the Dualshock 3 with rumble was included it felt weightier and more substantial. It fits the large number of adventure games that the PS3 has....

There are always potentially some good points of both sides of just about any debate.

When you play a videogame, you are watching a load of pixels arrange themselves on a screen. If you wish, you can just regard them as that at the most basic level- if you have no desire to play videogames then you don't even have to countenance what rules those pixels may work under in to how they arrange themselves according to the wishes of the storyteller or the chosen controller acti...

Actually, the Gamecube was a curiously double minded console for the time in that some games , like Luigi's Mansion, were relatively easy and some games were very hard with less middle ground than other consoles have. So it was kind of a hardcore console although I wouldn't claim that it was as EPIC a console as the N64 for Rare's games.

F Zero GX- tough game.
Metroid Prime - tough in some boss battles.
Super Monkey Ball- very tough.

Miyamoto criticised Donkey Kong Country without seeming to consider whether Rare had actually made a game that handled pretty well actually and then asked for Starfox to be shoehorned in a game that became Starfox Adventures that would have probably have felt better if it had been left as Dinosaur Planet.

Super Mario Galaxy - Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Avoid games that look and feel the same?

This time I feel it'll be the PS4 that gets the most early adopters and early lead.

In a few years time, the XboxOne may need to drop to a price that is actually lower than that Sony are charging for the PS4 (and given that the XboxOne comes with the Kinect 2.0 that may make the XboxOne very good value at that stage).

Expect a pick up in XboxOne owners then but Microsoft will either need to do something very surprising gameswise or something very corporat...

The current signs are not at all that it will, although getting some late adopters as a result of potentially having a noticeably cheaper price than the PS4 later in its life will help it as a second console, or casual console, purchase. Thanks to the lack of interest in the WiiU (which will help the Xbox One), the margin might not end up huge but there is nothing that stands out to me as saying that Sony have made any mistakes with the PS4 in getting the early adopters. If the PS3 was a prov...

I think that the Xbox One is kind of going to be in the position that PS3 at the start of this generation. A slow start that will pick up but with the generation ending with PS4 having sold more. At the end of the day, the Kinect 2.0 is of interest to me but some regard motion control in the same way that they regard 3D - as a novelty.

If the XboxOne makes distinctive, purpose built, mature games for the Kinect 2.0 THEN it stands a chance of competing with the PS4. So , yes, ...

Nintendo are like the hula hoop (n.b. not the crisp type). New people still buy them like they're the latest thing , they look quite fun to those who are older, you might have a little go and then you leave it in the cupboard because nothing's really changed.

Sometimes some games might not fit the brand ethos of the Playstation or Xbox. It's arguably better to have a slightly lower number of games so that the great ones become more visble than to cater to any taste no matter how lowest denominator.

I know the vast majority like to see things from the consumer's point of view but it's a very narrow way of seeing things. Consumers would eat away at every bit of money if you gave them everything that they want. The clue's in their name - they CONSUME what you give.

When you buy a house you're not allowed to just uproot all the bricks and mortar and move it somewhere else whenever and wherever you want. You have to have ownership of the land built in as wel...

When they put Luigi's Mansion 2 (aka Dark Moon) on the 3DS but not the WiiU it was Game Over for the WiiU for me.

Nintendo partly killed themselves as major console players by concentrating on their handhelds at the expense of their main console.

If Nintendo had no handhelds they'd be in a much stronger position with the WiiU. But as handhelds are a golden goose for them it looks like the WiiU will be the fall guy.

Because if you're not interested in the Kinect 2.0 part of the console then you're not... actually all that interested in the console in the first place.

If you're not someone who likes a bit of colourful fun from time to time in your games then you'll probably be growling at the XboxOne with your state of the art PC and ultra serious games in any case.

So it makes perfect sense for Microsoft to make the Kinect 2.0 a required part of the conso...

Those complaining about having to have Kinect as standard are like petty people afraid of the light to me. Get some fun, some colour and some movement in your life. If all you want your XboxOne is for intense single player games then you'd probably be better served on the whole by the PS4 in any case. Embrace the difference that the XboxOne might give you. If you don't, you'll never get Rare making decent games for the system.

It's got Kinect - which, like Sony's Move and Eye camera would normally cost money - and Skype.

Those alone make the price very competitive compared to the PS4.

Although the launch all about television was a bit ludicrous to me. What is this- the 1950s?

But, in the long run, just about the only main reasons to think that the PS4 is so much better is if you happen to prefer their exclusives and controller. Or if you think that Playstat...
