Who cares? I thought TitanFall looked very similar to PlanetSide 2 as far as gameplay goes, which has been recently announced as a PS4 console exclusive. I’ve played the PC version already (its F2P) and its pretty fun, especially playing with friends.

I haven't seen the article/video as I'm at work right now, but not seeing The Last Guardian for PS3 was a huge bummer for me. I was expecting a release date announcement for later this year. I also heard there was going to be a EverQuest Next game for the PS4, which I was also excited for and was a no show. Also, what about that Vita game in the BioShock universe Ken Levine teased at last year's E3?

Honestly, I found Sony's presser this year to leave a lot to ...

Agreed, P_Bomb. The Last of Us' gameplay seems a bit reminiscent of Manhunt actually, one of my favorite survival-horror games ever. Only The Last of Us seems to have a better and more emotionally charged story, which is a good thing IMO.

A very well written review and a nice surprise of a score from site that doesn't dole out high scores frequently, much less perfect scores. I preordered the game yesterday as I had some initial reservations it would be too much like Uncharted, which I didn't like the demo to the first game unfortunately (sorry, I'm sure it's a great game, it was just too much 'run and gun' for me). I tend to enjoy post-apocalyptic/survival games like Fallout, Metro, and DayZ, and prefe...

Couldn't agree more with the article; easily ranks up there as one of the best games I've played this generation far exceeding my expectations. The crashed airplane scene on the surface with Pavel was a very memorable moment for me. Glad to hear the game has been a critical success as I can't wait to play more via DLC and sequels. O-p-pa!

Microsoft spoke very little of Kinect beyond the TV voice commands and some specs during the press event a couple weeks ago. Having said that, something tells me Kinect motion capture functionality and Kinect games will be the primary focus of their E3 press conference as its included with every Xbox One. I think at least half of the 15 exclusives promised are Kinect games, and about 6 or 7 games are core and XBLA titles. And most of the 8 exclusives mentioned of those 15 games will be those ...

I'm betting over half of the proposed 15 exclusives, specifically 8 games or more, will be casual Kinect games. There is a reason why a Kinect is included with every Xbox One, and that's it. The other 7 games, maximum, will be a mix of XBLA and core games; probably 2 or 3 core games including Forza, and 3 or 4 XBLA games. I’m disappointed already.

If MSFT reiterates everything at E3 shown this week and those 15 new games turn out to be mostly Kinect shovelware, this is cake compared to what's to come.

Excellent article! 100% agree. Since finishing this game, my mind and heart seems to always come back to Songbird when thinking about my experience with this game.

I respect Jonathan Blow as a indie game developer, but he often says things that I think are way too hypocritical. I've never tried Braid as I honestly never saw anything interesting enough about the game to buy into it. And I love indie games! I was instantly turned off by the time manipulation aspect most of all, which is a core element to the game. I like to be immersed in a world that feels real when I play a video game, and the time manipulation pulls me out from that immersion becau...

Forget the movie! Why not have Carpenter write and direct the creative aspects of the next game in the series?

Good horror games need a compelling story and decent narrative to motivate the player to continue on through game. This is why I generally always favored the Silent Hill games over any in the survival-horror genre. But even that series is starting to lose focus and rely more on action with the more recent titles. I really liked the first Dead Space game, but lost int...

Both! Although I'll admit I have shifted back and forth between these two. In the mid-to-late 90's I was mostly a PC gamer but also played some (few) exclusive games on a Nintendo console. Then the PS2 came out and I started to move away from PC gaming. Last year I returned to PC gaming again, building a new gaming PC to accompany my PS3. So right now I am enjoying this PC/PS3 combination and am open to buying a next gen console too (probably a PS4) when I see a must have exclusive or...

I kinda find all this hate for EA unfounded honestly. I see many comments bringing up that Origin is required to play EA games. Last year I bought the physical DVD of Skyrim for the PC and it required Steam to play it. How is that different with EA games requiring Origin then?

Back in 2004, I recall buying Half-Life 2 at launch when Valve simultaneously also launched Steam, and like how Origin is required for games today, Steam was required to play Half-Life 2 back then. And ...

Agree Super Mario World and Zelda were both great, but not in my top 5 though.

My top 5 would have been:
5. Castlevania IV
4. Super Ghouls N' Ghosts
3. Donkey Kong Country (1 & 2 were great)
2. Final Fantasy II (IV in Japan)
1. Super Metroid

Wow! Beautiful graphics! I caved and bought this DD last night after reading/seeing all the highly positive reviews. I think Adam Sessler's review specifically really sold me as I value his opinion more than most reviewers. I specifically liked his attention to reviewing the environment most of all as that's what I enjoyed most in the original BioShock. I was originally going wait and play BioShock 2 first (never played it, but have it), but said "ah forget it!" Maybe will g...

Surprised Deadly Premonition (Director's Cut), which comes out next month, didn't make this list being specific to PlayStation 3 owners. I've been very curious about this game for a while and never had an easy opportunity to play it till now. I heard its somewhat similar to the first Silent Hill on PS1, and I've always been a big fan of that series, especially with the first few games.

I think the article takes the what NPD, strictly a sales site, isn't saying way too literately. There certainly are "hardcore" gamers gaming on portables and more casual-friendly home consoles like the Wii/WiiU, they're just not the majority. Many parents buy portable game systems specifically to occupy their kids on road trips (I know several who do), and while the kids enjoy them on trips, these portable game systems aren't played much at home, therefore not many games...

Fair enough. I didn't know you had beaten virtually all of the 30-35 PS3 games you mentioned, so perhaps that changes things a little. I have about the same amount of PS3 games, but I've probably only beaten about half of them, so it would be more painful for me to wait for the PS4 launch, however, I built a new PC gaming rig last year which is probably more powerful than a PS4 already, so I'd survive. Hehe. You mentioned you have a 360 too, so you still can play some new games ti...

@Darrius Cole

You have some valid points, however your reason to make the PS4 backward compatible because all PS3's have been backward compatible is not correct. The BC feature was discontinued only a few years into the PS3’s lifecycle with newer models to reduce prices in competing with Microsoft & Nintendo.

My first PS3 had BC (the last model released that had BC, in fact), which got the YLOD in 2011, so I bought a slim model which I still have to...

I faced a similar situation with the PS2. I wanted to jump on the PlayStation bandwagon late in the PS1 lifecycle and I chose to wait for the PS2 (which was already announced as backward compatible) release as it was less than a year away. With the limited availability of the PS2 at launch it made my wait even longer and there weren't many PS2 games for it for the first year; I ended up playing more PS1 games then I did PS2 games the first year. Looking back, I wished I had just bought th...
