Heartening news indeed. Perhaps with Steam getting more recent competition in the digital distribution space (Epic, Bethesda, etc.) and the failure of their Steam machines, Valve is hopefully turning their efforts into making action/adventure games again such as continuing Half-Life and Portal.
This game is sounding more and more what I wanted out of a next Fallout game instead of Fallout 76.
Reusing code is not the problem. Fallout New Vegas was also a spinoff, blatantly reused code from Fallout 3, but was a critical success despite being a buggier game too. Granted, Bethesda & Obsidian were more upfront about reusing engine/assets for New Vegas at the time, which is part of the problem with 76 today.
The real problem though is Bethesda is gradually losing sight of what made their past games great: RPG mechanics & storytelling through side-quests & ...
Good article! I really enjoyed both DAO & DA2, both had excellent, well written & voice-acted, story/side-quests, but DAO was way better in RPG mechanics. Inquisition, however, I found to be really boring, both in the world and the characters both lacking personality to me. I put about 15 or so hours into Inquisition and then lost interest. Maybe someday I'll try Inquisition again, but after also seeing how the Mass Effect series has similarly gone downhill, my faith in BioWare un...
Greed. Greed never changes…
I haven't even tried the dominoes table yet. Perhaps I shouldn't! Lol!
Good article! Before release, I was really worried this game would be much more action and shooter focused from the previous RDR game considering the success of GTA V online. Instead, this game is exactly what I wanted: a slow-paced, realistic, western RPG. I highly applaud Rockstar on sticking with such a story-focused and character-driven game; I’m really enjoying it so far. Now if I can just stop playing poker so much at camp and saloons. Lol!
I loved the base game (50+ hrs. played); but the "timer" and the "supposed to die" requirement in this DLC kills it for me; I'm glad I read/watched reviews about this DLC before purchasing. I liked taking my time, exploring, doing all the side quests, and avoiding/stealth killing many of the monsters; the sense of atmosphere and exploration, along with a decent story, in the sci-fi environment was phenomenal, and I wish was present in this DLC and more games.
All good arguments above. More specifically, I think its a new model to bring down price; they need to match PS4 Pro's price. Maybe instead introduce a 2TB model for the current price and price cut the current model to $399.
I think its an announcement of an upcoming slim version of the One X with a price cut, presumably $399; they need a price competitive to PS4 Pro at this point.
I thought the fan film was awesome; I’d be interested in knowing what the budget was to do it. The director would only say, jokingly, he used his Bar Mitzvah money to make it. LOL! I think with a full film budget, using camera tricks and stunt doubles for the real actiony scenes, makeup to make Fillion appear younger, and every bit of polish movies go through these days, a full movie would turn out great and give the fans, myself included, what they want.
Good article! I finished the game and experienced exactly what the author is describing about how the game ends. Great game!
I disagree with the headline. First viewing during the live show left me intrigued, but confused. Then last night I watched it again with a bit more focus and watched some fan analysis videos too. Now after also reading some theories and discussion about what kind of story this game is possibly shaping up to be, I am getting very excited for this game now. I hope it isn't too action-focused as I'm not Metal Gear fan (though been thinking about trying MGSV recently). I like and applaud...
Lol @ some of the above comments; it's Metroid Prime all over again! :) After how awesome Super Metroid was, I recall how up-in-arms fans were when Metroid Prime was announced as a first person game. Metroid Prime was, and still is, great and felt more immersive to boot. Sounds like this is still an RPG at its core, and I trust CDPR when they say it will stay that way.
I thought Sony’s conference was great actually. Quirkiness aside, I liked that Sony focused more on gameplay than trailers and marketing speech; which to me translates to a show more for gamers than investors. And that Gustavo Santaolalla opener was great IMO.
The Last of Us 2 was literately jaw dropping w/ its graphics and how she reacts in action in what seemed to be real-time gameplay. I’ve also never been a Metal Gear fan, but am now more excited w/ Death Standing as i...
I'm aware the previous games play differently; I'd still want to play them though, especially the 2nd game. A simple port of The Witcher 1 probably won't work, but a remaster would. Diablo 3 and Wasteland 2 are mouse & keyboard style games, and were remastered/enhanced to PS4 to play with a DS controller, so I think it's possible.
Time to reward PS4 gamers with remasters, or at least ports, of The Witcher 1 & 2! I'm still in the Blood & Wine DLC, well over 100 hours in Wild Hunt, and still loving it! I would definitely to go back and play the previous two games if made available on PS4.
I recall being intrigued by this game when it was first shown. In reading the recent reviews, especially this very well-written review, I'm definitely going to buy and play it this weekend!
Cyberpunk 2077 is rumored to be releasing early next year and indeed has nudity from what we’ve already seen. If it comes out that it’s going to be censored on PS4, Sony will start bleeding gamers (aka customers) and fast, myself included.
