Like they say with driving, if you can see another car in an obstructed view, you assume a car is there. Well, with survival horror games, I always assume something is around that corner or hiding in a shadow before proceeding closer. Many times it was nothing, but sometimes my assumption was right and I was prepared (most of the time). Patience certainly is a virtue with survival horror games, and I wouldn't want to have it any other way.
If I win, Steam code please.

Seems the article title and content should be using the word "lighting" and not "lightning"

That system trade-in strategy, per the article, will never work. The costs in managing that process alone will defeat the purpose. Besides, is there really competitive room for a third PC-like next-gen console now?

Nintendo should focus solely on the 3 problems with the Wii U: (1) the Wii U gamepad (w/ screen) most core gamers don't want, (2) the lack of many AAA games, and (3) the price.

What I think Nintendo should do is start supporting their Pro Contr...

Why can't DayZ itself become "the 'ultimate' virtual world survival game?"

Glad to hear Mr. Hall wasn't phased and stood up to JayZ's lawyers.

For me..
TLOU is Game of the Year 2013
Fallout 3 is the Game of the Generation

Wow, they made the game even more mind-numbingly boring than the movies!

@Mr Pumblechook
Agree! I'd say its almost safe to bet an XII remaster is coming next. The creators of the X/X-2 remaster said if this sells well (which it already has in Japan and looks like its going to sell well in the west), they're considering a XII remaster next.

My problem with Nintendo lately is the motion control-based controllers that are forced on the player. I grew up playing Nintendo, owning every home console from the NES to the GameCube, but when I was told I HAD to play Nintendo games with the Wii-motes, I checked out. Motion control games are a deal-breaker for me (sorry, it's just not my preference).

The Wii U seems like a little step back to a sensible control scheme from the Wii, but I have no interest in the Wii U g...

How this list didn't include Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is beyond me!

Definitely The Last of Us, my GOTY. I haven't even finished the GTA V and I am already considering another run through The Last of Us.

I am in the beta for ESO, so I have "tried" the game already; a few times already in fact. Same applies to Final Fantasy XIV, I got in the beta for that too, and alike ESO, it was mildly fun, but not worth a monthly subscription to me.

If they go with a payment setup alike Guild Wars 2, as in 'buy the game at $60 and play for free', ESO will sell like gangbusters. They can recoup the additional development costs through DLC content released later. I'd probably buy it myself in that scenario. I love the Elder Scrolls series of single-player games, but I have never seen nor tried a game that justifies paying monthly to play, and my impressions thus far on ESO doesn't change that.

I recall Todd Howard, Game Director of Bethesda Game Studios, saying "install base doesn’t matter" in a keynote at DICE, so I think a PC/PS4/X1 install base is enough to merit a Holiday 2014 release. Oblivion released on PC the same year (2006) the PS3 launched, so I don't think console launches matter to them.

The "4" in the Christmas Card is a very welcome hint! Also, ESO (by Zenimax Online Studios) & New Vegas (by Obsidian) are/were from other d...

Fake or not, I think its safe to say Bethesda is working on Fallout 4 and preparing for a big announcement very soon. Fallout is still a relatively new license for them with really only one game developed being Fallout 3. New Vegas really doesn't count as it was outsourced to Obsidian. With Oblivion in 2006, Fallout 3 in 2008, Skyrim in 2011, I think its safe to say we're getting Fallout 4 sometime next year (2014).

I certainly can't wait to see what they're c...

Excellent video, agree 100%.. Definitely a gift in my POV.

This video reminds me of a documentary I saw where medical researchers monitored brain activity while someone played a puzzle-type game and their brain was lit up with activity like nothing they've ever seen; they suspect that playing such games regularly through life will lead to a much lower risk to dementia later in life.

Also, the US military outwardly seeks gamers for recruiting by greater ad...

Good article. I am really happy that both consoles sold well and will probably continue to sell well for years to come. And to think there were some in the industry and media saying that consumers generally didn't want dedicated game consoles anymore and tablets are now "the thing" for gaming. Those industry/media types spittin this BS can go stand in the corner now and learn that tablets will *never* catch up to dedicated gaming consoles and gaming PC's as gamers will alway...

Yep, was GameInformer whom related the gameplay to dialing phone numbers in their preview. Google "ryse son of rome gameinformer" and see/read. Will be very interesting to see the final reviews later this week.
