Dead Space is not survival horror. Not that it isn't a good game.

It's been what, two weeks now? And 360 fanboys are still butthurt over this.
As Nyc_Gamer noted, Bioshock actually sold okay on the PS3, but let's look a little deeper, shall we?
1. Bioshock was a year-old game listed a full price, with very little in the way of extras to justify the price tag. Yeah, it had the new difficulty level, but that was about it. By contrast, ME2 is probably going to include previously-released DLC. It's more comparable to the Fallout 3 GOTY edition than it is Bioshock.
2. The PS3 Bioshock port...
I actually played ET on the 2600 when I was a kid. It's kind of amazing the state didn't intervene and place me in foster care.
a Day 1 buy for me. Bioware seems to know exactly what PS3 owners are looking for.

Unfortunately, I think kinect is the "next" Xbox.
Bioware will presumably come up with some way to get the ME1 choices into the PS3 version somehow. But even if not, no worries. I'm guessing that lots of people played ME2 on the 360 without ever playing ME1, and they seemed to do okay. I'm not concerned either way. This is going to be a nice game start off the new year with, and it should keep me occupied until Killzone 3 hits.
Well, like others have speculated, there's a good chance the PS3 version will include some kind of "Introduction To Mass Effect" content that gets PS3 players up to speed on the events of ME1. But you're right that something like that probably shouldn't count as "exclusive" content since it's just a work-around for not having ME1 available. The rest of the PS3 content will be the DLC that 360 owners had to pay for, but which we'll get for free.
Nothing against Reach, because I'm sure it's a quality game and all, but man I can't even imagine what it's like to own a console that only delivers one or two significant exclusives each year. It must suck to rely almost entirely on multiplats for gaming.

True. The difference is that Sony replaced its lost exclusives with new IPs (Uncharted, inFamous, LBP, Motorstorm, etc. etc.) while Microsoft has had to stand pat. That's why having a stable of first party studios is important.
I don't care whether the 360 is outselling the PS3 or not. All that matters to me as a PS3 owner is that Sony has more exclusives coming out than I have time to play, while the 360 just has yet another Gears/Halo. It must suck to only get one or two exclusives a year.
Seriously. All I care about is the copy that I'm going to buy.
Like most bosses in Demon's Souls, Armored Spider is trivially easy to kill. Stand behind the little outcropping in the wall, keep lobbing arrows at it, eventually it drops. Maneater would have been a better choice here, or maybe Flamelurker if you don't glitch him.
I still can't believe that Motorstorm Apocalypse and Killzone 3 are coming out in the same month. I'm going to end up passing on one of those games because I just won't have time for it. "Too many exclusives" is a good problem to have, but I would rather that they spread them out more.
No core games = no core gamers
Yeah, the VIP packs were already on the disc, but they were free if you bought the game new. Of course, the BC2 map packs sucked, but that's a different topic.
Looking forward to this. And the free DLC.
Doesn't bother me in the slightest. I don't blame developers for wanting to deter used game sales, so if they want to charge used-game buyers for online content, that's fine with me.
