I'm 100% sure this won't be coming out in Q1 2010.
This review sounds like something that was written without having played the game at all. Is there anything in here that a person couldn't have already known based on pre-release marketing?
I mean, yeah I'm disappointed too that the engine hasn't gotten a thorough overhaul, but we've known all long that this was going to look/play almost identically to Fallout 3.
Nothing here to change my mind about my preorder.
"Hardcore mode" is not the same as "the hardest difficulty." The developers have already confirmed that you can play hardcore mode on easy difficulty if you want to.
Wow. I had seen that article before but I hadn't read the comments section. It's really disconcerting to see the developer refuse to say whether the game will run equally well across consoles. Ouch.
It's the single most rewarding game I've played this generation. To the extent that it's hard, it's because the game requires you to pay attention and to master the deep/complex melee system. Nothing frustrating about it unless you're the kind who expects the game to hold his hand from start to finish.
What Kinect game are you most looking forward to playing?
Lots of 360/PC gamers have played ME2 without having played ME1, and they seemed to enjoy it. I assume I'll similarly enjoy ME2 on my PS3.
LOL @ including Mass Effect 3 as a 360 exclusive when there's at least a 90% chance that it drops simultaneously on both consoles.
The outlook for the 360 is bright. It continues to sell well, and Kinect figures to put up good numbers for the holiday season, giving Microsoft better access to the casual market.
The outlook for 360 gamers is still pretty rotten though, with very few core exclusives on the horizon and with most of Microsoft's energies going to Kinect instead of core games.
I couldn't care less that there's a mandatory install.
I doubt any DLC will be timed-exclusive, but it's still kind of disconcerting that he dodged that question.
For those who don't want to wait for the German site to translate and load.
"i hope there isn't a mission like Nuka Cola bottle collection, only mission i could not finish on fallout 3"
Globe Trotter: Discover all snow globes
Not sure about the particulars, obviously, but this could conceivably be way harder than the Nuka Cola challenge.
I'm also not overwhelmingly happy with the melee and unarmed combat requirements, since that's not my play style, but it should just take some grinding ...
I don't think "hardcore" is the same as "hard." The only difference between hardcore and regular is that you have to sleep, eat, and d rink, ammo has weight, stimpacks heal over time instead of instantly, and stuff like that. If I understand it right, you can simultaneously play in Hardcore mode but be on Easy difficulty.
None of this stuff really bothered me about Fallout 3. Yeah, more enemies and weapons would be nice, but there were plenty in F3 to keep it entertaining.
The thing I really want to see fixed is for the save files to not get so big and unstable. I've never seen a game freeze up as often as F3 did after I had been playing my character for a while.
The article makes it clear that you don't need a Gold subscription to play Kinect games. That's only needed for the online social features.
I mean, Kinect still sucks, but at least casuals won't have to drop another $60 on XBL to play with Skittles.
Weak effort. Mass Effect 3 won't be a 360 exclusive. And when you have to list a bunch of Kinect titles to offset real games like KZ3 and The Last Guardian, you know you're scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Which Kinect game are you most looking forward to playing?
I got 100% completion on RDR and didn't encounter any glitches at all, except for a single freeze.
Bethesda, on the other hand, yikes. Fallout 3 was glitchy and freezy all the way through. I didn't even bother to try the DLC because I've read that it's almost unplayable on the PS3.
This article still contained exactly zero information that we didn't already know. I could have written this article, and I don't have the game yet.
