Say goodbye to 100+ hours of your life. That game is a huge time sink. In a good way of course.
Exactly what I was going to post. The two AC games I've played (AC2, Brotherhood) were set on Easy mode all the way through.
From the best game review ever: The trend in hard games these days is to unlock "Easy" mode for you once you've died enough times. Do you think Demon's Souls does that? Do you think Demon's Souls is so much as aware of the concept of "Easy" mode? NO IT IS NOT. If Demon's Souls even knew we were talking about "Easy" mode, it would come over here and kick the sh** out of all of us. And we would deserve it.
"This all seems to be a result of a dedicated effort to make the game difficult, and while I do appreciate a challenge, there is a marked difference between something being challenging because it requires sufficient skill and tests your abilities, and something being challenging because the restraints that you are forced to operate under are draconian and downright stupid."
Demon's Souls is actually one of the very first games that springs to mind for me when I ...
I hope people try this out. Great game.
To the comment about levelling being slow: This game starts off slowly and at first it seems like it's going to be a huge grind, but once you start getting more sub-turns and get your third party member it speeds up quite a bit. And after you beat the final boss of the main story, levelling goes extremely quickly. Just the other night, I went from level 200 to 300 (approximately) in just a few hours.
I'm not sure why anybody expected anything different. Bethesda just isn't a very good developer. The DLC for Fallout 3 was borderline-unplayable on the PS3, and Skyrim suffered from many of the same bugs and memory issues that Fallout did, so I just assumed that any DLC for Skyrim would be similarly bad.
I enjoyed Skyrim, but after getting the platinum I moved on to other stuff. It's not like there aren't other games out there.
Completely predictable. Bethesda just isn't a very good developer. Oblivion, Fallout, Skyrim: different games, same bugs.
I want special armor for my horse. Have they announced anything like this yet?
LEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!
Metal Gear Solid 4 (trophy patch) is better game in that list.
You guys need to actually read the article. If you don't recognize it as satire, you need to take a class on satire.
I think it's disgraceful that people stereotype women as being bad at video games. Just because they can't drive doesn't mean they can't play games.
Dark Souls was awesome, but Demon's Souls has much better PvP and weapons-balancing. The problem with Dark is that anything Lightning +5 is so much better than anything that scales with your other stats, that it severely limits the kind of character you can realistically build. I loved the diversity of character types in Demon's.
It blows my mind that major franchises can get away with this sort of thing.
I was holding out hope for Motorstorm: Apocalypse. Honestly, my Plus subscription has already paid for itself just since June so I have nothing to complain about, but I'm still a little disappointed.
I actually owned both ET and Pac-Man for the 2600. That's probably why I'm so jaded and cynical as an adult.
Yep. Whe you figure out what's going on with the dairy farm, that's a great WTF moment.
My son (13) played this episode earlier today -- yes, I know, go ahead and mail me my Father of the Year certificate -- and it was so cool to see that moment of recognition on his face when he figured it out.
Agree. The 2nd page of the article was quite funny. Better order two copies of the game in case you wear your first one out.
Glad to see Rainbow Moon at #2. Great game.
Of course, as a Plus member I'm also happy to enjoy TWD for free. The first two episodes were really good.
I was never planning on buying any Skyrim DLC anyway. The DLC for FO3 ran horribly on the PS3, and given Bethesda's track record I assmmed -- correctly as it turns out -- that the same thing would happen this time around too.
The good news is that it doesn't look like we missed much. Dawnguard got so-so reviews, and the house armor DLC is just sad.
