Hardcore gamers like us are in the minority, but we're the early adopters and the people who establish buzz around this sort of tech. Microsoft is just whistling past the graveyard if they think they can alienate actual gamers and still successfully market a gaming console.
Totally false, guy. Microsoft has reached out to fans of The Price is Right, and you'll see it pay off in the coming months. Now all they need is to start marketing to people who buy Colonial Penn life insurance and folks who have structured settlements but need cash now and it's Game Over for Sony and Nintendo.
In fairness though, who wouldn't want to watch The Price is Right on their console? It has Plinko and that game with the yodeling guy who climbs the mountain and new cars all over the place.
I think it's already been confirmed that the "small fee" is the full retail price of the game.
The trailer makes it look like it's mainly a Kinect game, and I could see this being the long-awaited hardcore title playable through motion control. On the other hand, it looks like a lot of work, I'm lazy, and I'd rather sit on my couch and use a regular controller.
From what I've read, MS has some kind of system in place to allow family members to share a license. As a father of a 14 year old, this is an issue for us too, even though we're a PS family.

If a console gives me the games and other features that I want, who gives a rip what it looks like? It could be carved in the image of a giant penis and I would still be happy to buy one.

Is this even an open question? Sony showed me a device that will let me play games. Microsoft showed me a device that will help me watch tv. I can watch tv just fine thanks.
I was strongly considering buying both consoles this time around. Not after this. Looks like I'll just go with Sony.
I picked this up for $30 a few months back. Great game that would be a nice addition to the IGC, even though I already have it.
Well that's the problem. How do I know this game is good? This is one that's very much on radar screen and I would strongly consider buying it new if early user reviews are positive. But then I end up having to pay $5 more to get the same game. To hell with that. I'll just play The Last of Us instead.

I disagree strongly that Uncharted is overrated. That's my favorite franchise of this generations, with Demon's/Dark Souls a close second.
Portal is also not overrated. Anybody who read a single review knows that it's a short game going in, so that's not a reason to downgrade it. And of course, downgrading it because it doesn't have multiplayer is just stupid.
The thing I like most about Plus is that it prompts me to play stuff that I never got around to or that was never on my radar screen. For example, I never would have played Spec Ops had it not been for Plus, but that ended up being a pretty awesome game. Bioshock 2 and Darksiders aren't in the same league, but they were both good games that I also wouldn't have played if I wasn't a Plus subscriber.
