I do like the XMB on the PS3 just unlike the 360's UI the XBM does a poor job of giving information to the user. It also is very hard to make themes that work well for it since you cant see much of anything unless it is a very dark them or you turn the brightness way down. I do like it, just, the market has changed and so have the needs of there users. The UI needs to be updated to meet those needs.
I think they will, looking at how major of a feature this is I'd expect more news at E3 about it. Just give it time.
Until we see this in a large number of games and some kind of synergy between Steam and the XMB its all potential right now. They still have a long way to go till it becomes a major selling point.
Not so much mistakes, Unlike MS who has a huge network backing and was already doing it on the PC and Xbox one. Sony had to start fresh and is a new thing for the company. They come a long way I feel since the PS3 first came out.
They are not moving fast enough to catch XBL they still have a few issues to work out and features to add but that will come in time. It is also up to the users to keep pushing Sony.
This is what the in game XMB should be replaced with. I really hope Sony and Valve take Steam to the next level on PS3. I feel this is much to important to help bridge that gap between PC and System owners. Its nothing but good for everyone.
RUSE worked amazing with move. Really showed that RTS could be the killer kind of game with the Move system. A game like Sins of the Solar Empire could work with it as well. So can't give them too much crap. So far I think it is the best Move game out there. For some odd reason people forget about RUSE.
Not it is not only them, trolls and fanboys only make up a very small % of the people who buy games. Its more that you have many people who get GI, look at IGN's reviews and other places and decided where to spend there cash off of that.
It is becoming more important now that it is getting harder to rent games. Over where I live both my Blockbusters closed so only way for me to play a game is a demo or buy it.
I see it the most there. I called out quite a few reviews on Homefront since it was a much better game then the scores gave it. I never said anything about Sony games that makes them special and there for should get better scores, not sure why you are putting words in my mouth.
I don't think 7's are bad, some of the best games I played where some of the more lower scoring ones. One of the games I love the most is PTO4 on the PS2 and Warship Gunner.
It never use to be that way but in this day an age people just have way to high of expectations.
Xplay is about the only people that know how to review games now day's I feel. I like there 5 star system much better. I hate how a site can give a game a 7.9 just taking off a 0.1 to get people to look at the review since all they see is the (7) and right away think it is a bad game. Been really getting annoying and I only see it in Sony First Party games.
Xplay gave it a 4/5 and they are about the only review I trust now days. Game is a solid 80 over all I think and i know they will have great after market support and the 5 player co-op sold me a long time ago along with move support.
It was alright, not all that excited for MLG now days, they need more games in it.
Had my eye on this for some time. Very good work for there first game. The Mech game market is open to be taken, AC5 might be good. That and Front Mission was a huge let down since they went from RTS to a Shooter.
@ Fatoldman
Not sure they said on there site they want it on PC Xbox and PS3 but have no idea what systems it will be on in the end aside from PC.
Not sure what this could be, all that I can think of is ether it is some double side DVD, a DVD with more storage, or some kind of mini DVD. Out side of that not sure what other options there are.
Kind of lame, I done many quests got many new games and still my bar has not moved since last year.
Still seems kind of low, I think the screen maybe was defective because there has been many previews that said the screen was good. So that is a tad fishy. That and again it is the first phone of its kind, cut them some slack :)
Ya that is kind of odd, at the same time though all cell screens look good to me once I get it in my hands. In reality it is hard to tell what looks better unless you have them side by side. So I am not too worried. Again its way better then my Eris. I'll wait till Verizon gets one in and I can mess with it first hand. Its hard to go off hardware reviews for this kind of thing, even more so since there is no other phone that can do what this one does. Kind of in its own market.
The 400MB of Ram is interesting, I wonder what kind of RAM it is and what the speed on it is. I had hoped they would use the Mobile version of the XDR Ram from Rambus. If that was the case then it would be fine. The screen is also a let down. Granted it is still much better then my Eris, still plan to get it.
I'm excited for it, I still want to wait to see how it stacks up to other phones lag wise, the #1 thing I hate with my Eris is all the UI lag granted it was the very first android phone. Hope to hear soon when it will be on Verizon so I can get it in my hands and test it out.
