All he is saying is that by the numbers they had the same number of units out as the Xbox they would sell more total on the PS3. Reality is the Xbox makes Publishers more $$ and MS pulls in more as well. Though this stat is more important for Sony's investors as it shows in the long term the majority of 3rd party games could be sold on the PlayStation 3. Days before the Fallout DLC was announced for PS3 the said it would 'never' come. Same with the GTA DLC and also Bioshock. Jack Trenton said it last year that nothing is realty exclusive in this industry anymore. Both ME2 and the new Splinter Cell game will be on PS3 about a year after the 360 versions. Ya, Halo Reach is going to be Epic, I always love the Halo gameplay more then any other game. That and Halo has always been the game to have a lot of cool features. People forget Halo 2 was the reason FPS games started to get popular on systems other then PC. I'm not bashing Killzone, just saying Halo will still be a better overall game because Bungie understands Core Gameplay and never focuses on making Halo a technical showcase. Which has been a problem in the industry as of late.
I hope if there is a Kz3 they ditch the online and go for more of a Halo or Unchated set up. No party system realy screwed that game, along with all the unbalanced classes and lack of a standard set of gametypes. Never was sure why the decided to go so off in left field with a hockey stick with how they did the online.
CoD has always been a huge selling series, people act like they are surprised by how much it has sold and what not. Also U2 was never marketed for Online play which was a huge mistake in my point of view. I would love to see Uncharted 2 in MLG its a very fun game to watch like Halo.
What I like most about MAG is that they can do this with so many people. Just think if they share this tech with other Sony Devs? How much better other PS3 online games could be? Even more so if Sony would host 3rd party games on there own servers like MS tends too do. Assuming they could make it work it could (And I do stress the could) be a major selling point down the road. Just speculation but its all very possible.
You are right to an extent. No one would green light Flower, LBP, Heavy Rain as well if it where a 3rd party game. MAG is a high risk high reward kind of game. If it works and works well the pay off for Sony and Zipper will be huge. If not its going to be a huge PR hit and also a hit on Sony and Zippers reputation. Considering how much Beta testing this game had I can tell they really believe in there product so have some confidence in them as well.
I never have been a fan of large games like this, I like the 4v4 ish games like Uncharted, Halo, Gears.. Though people are right the command system in this game and how deep the strategy is impresses me. I understand the gameplay might not be anything special if not bellow average but its targeted too people who want to play as a team and win by using set ups and good pre planing. BF2 on PC was a lot of the same way.
I'm not sure why everyone keeps assuming things are going to fail or be sucessful when we know nothing about the hardware it self and even less about what games will be coming with it. Natal or the Wand could both very easy fail and they both could do well also.
I can see why, both GoW3 and GT5 are about the last games to make the jump to next gen. So fans of those games have yet to get another game in the series. I thing Halo Reach will be the most hyped and will sell much more but its hard to beat a game no one has got a taste of yet. I think FF13 and Last Guardian if it comes out might be bigger.
I think the reason you see it less on the PS3 is the demographics on each system and that the Xbox is a the moment where the majority of competitive gaming is. So you have people with big egos a lot.
Ya, I know what you mean, Chromehounds had great quality same with Demon Souls, Ninja Blade was not too bad ether. But AC is kind of there main game, would love too see them go all out on it for once.
AC is a very low budget game now back int he PS2 days they had Agetec as the publisher and AC was one of there best money makers, then for AC4 tye where with Sega, then AC4 For Answer with Ubisoft..

Too be honest I would like to see what the Flower people are up too and the Pixlejunk guys. Q games as well. Same with Titan the Fat Princess makers. Im sure they will all have new games out this year sometime. So that will be exciting for me at least.
Good question, both where shown off in 08 I think and now went kind of dark. They both could make a show this year. If FF14 comes out some how then that will give the PS3 3 MMOs. Also FF13vs could be teased as well.
Ya, that is a good question, as of late everything has been very MS focused due too all the Natal talk. I think the biggest thing will be the PSN over hall and upgrade and a paid service. Game wise I think that new studio that Insomniac just opened will have something sick to show off.
Cross Game Chat cost Sony $$ that is the only reason why we have not had it sooner. Its the same reason why you pay 50$ on XBL. If Sony was to give this out for free it would be at a huge loss to them. So don't for a second expect anything that requires many VOIP servers to be free. Also 50$ is cheep even if the new PSN cost you another 50$ on top of XBL thats only 100$ a year.
