I agree. About a week ago, someone from their studio said that they would like to make a PS3 version, but just don't have the resources and time to do so.
Your right, not going to happen: http://www.winbeta.org/?q=n...
Microsoft would rather focus on their next gen Xbox, and keep the 360/Kinect package going. I really think they are more interested in becoming a 2 console supporting company, that appeals to 2 demographics.
I've been one that's been bitching about no console footage. Well, I watched the HD footage on You Tube, and thought it looked very nice... I can't complain.
I think Dice/EA should be a little concerned about getting the the 360 version done right as well. A lot of shooter fans over with the Xbox brand.
Your right about the spec wars happening. If true, I already have a headache... N4G will explode!
A little out of context.
This is what was said, "So we want to make sure that if you're playing it on PS3 it looks incredible, and if you're playing on the 360 it's unbelievable, sounds amazing and looks fantastic"
If it's true about the PS Vita not being profitable for another 3 years, - http://e3.gamespot.com/stor... then it'll be at least another 3 years before Sony releases the PS4.
Yep, and they did it with the original Xbox.
The original Xbox had:
1. 4 controller ports
2. More power
3. games could be displayed in 480p, 720p and some in 1080i.
4. A hard drive
5. No mem card needed
PS2 had none of this.
So yes, Microsoft could release a system (if they wanted to) that is more powerful. They have plenty of $$$, and don't plan on releasing a portable.
@ Raven:
A lot has changed over the past few decades, so anything is possible. I do agree on your comment about fans of the PS2 not caring so much about power and graphics last gen. In addition, they were never really big on FPS's. This generation it's all about power, graphics and Killzone. Well, the Killzone franchise is amazing, and the PS3 has a lot of power, but the fans shouldn't be so contradictory.
If so, this may be one of the reasons for a lack of 1st party developement. The 360 would go on with Kinect behind it, and appealing more towards the casual crowd (with a casual price). Multiplatforms would continue as well.
Microsoft would basically support both systems appealing to two demographics. Just like Toyota does with it's Lexus brand, and it's self titled line.
I agree. More and more 3D content is coming out in the way of games, and you really don't have to worry about who has glasses and who doesn't. The primary focus is yourself. So yes, it could work for gaming.
As for films... The summer is underway, and a few big films have passed on 3D: The Hangover 2, X-Men First Class and Super 8. Besides which, the 3D blu-ray content is priced higher and quite pathecic in volume.
3D set to explode?

Who knows, maybe 3D gaming will gain some traction, but only time will tell.
Just how long will EA keep the console footage in hiding. The high end PC footage of BF3 looks stunning, and is full of gameplay details, but that's all console owners have to go on.
Come on EA, give us that "targeted 30FPS gameplay" Dice was talking about back in April.
It's going to take a lot to get the majority of buyers not to be excited, and not purchase MW3. For all the hate the COD franchise gets on N4G, the love seems to be far greater outside this box. There was Black Ops at #6 in the top 10 for the month May, still hanging around after 7 months... that's stunning.
I would consider MW3, only if it had a longer single player campaign, and if there was less of those damn respawing A.I.
Props for the honesty!
Did you happen to see the top 10 games for May? after 7 months, Black Ops is still there at #6... it's just stunning. It seems as if the hate for the COD franchise is confined to gaming sites... for the most part.
If I decide to buy into MW3, it better have a longer campaign and less of those bastard respawning A.I.
Did anyone else say WTF at #6 on the charts? With all the nonstop bashing the COD franchise is getting, to see Black Ops still at #6 is just stunning. It's really going to take mass defections from the core and casuals for BF3 to takeout MW3.
It's obvious N4G and other gaming sites don't dictate sales, otherwise the Wii system would be in last place.
Thoughts?
Fry's Electronics has those plasmas on sale, but their website pricing can differ from in store pricing.
For your info, videophiles have rated the top end Panasonic plasmas with the best looking 3D picture on the market.
Also, a plasma lifespan is now at 100,000 hours. So 3 hours a day, 365 days a year is 1095 hours a year. You'll have around 90 years left at this rate. But we all know that we like to upgrade every 2-5 years.
Dear EA, a nice pre-order bonus for console owners would be some actual console footage.
Thank you.
Lure MORE than just gamers... on a 24"? No... but maybe the 50" 1080p 3D plasma for $799.99, the 50" 720p 3D plasma w/2 glasses for $799.99 or the 60" 1080p 3D DLP for $680.00, all of which I saw on sale today, may lure others. However, you still have to convince people to get past the use of glasses. Declining 3D ticket sales this year may be a telling sign.
When the trailer cut away to the brief PS3 footage, all the action stopped. When the trailer went back to the PC footage, all the action resumed.
I keep repeating myself, but... back in April, Dice stated that the console versions will be running at a steady 30FPS.
This story should be more like what we didn't learn. The secrecy regarding the console versions is uncalled for.
Where the hell is "Huxley"? It must be 6-8 years in development... if it's still being developed.
