But every screenshot I've seen is gloomy and dark and depressing. I'm not a semi-suicidal emo-box, I mean teen, anymore, so I like more cheerful settings.
Is it all doom and gloom, or do we get pretty scenery too? If I there's some happiness to the killing, I'll definitely be picking this up.
this story is a quintuplicate.
...512MB of ram will will laughable.
However, I think the PS3's potential, or at least what Sony hopes is the PS3's potential, is the SPUs. With the cell processor, theoretically you have no need for a dedicated video card and gallons of RAM to go with it. With advances in hard drives and advances made in coding for the cell, the ideal result is that the video card which has been a staple of the PC gaming industry for the last 15 years will become obsolete.

I can't wait. This looks like a tonne of fun.
The 20 is definitely superior to the 60. It's cheaper, has no wireless to waste my time on, and doesn't have a fake chrome strip. Now I can upgrade the HDD to a respectable level and not feel that I wasted $70US on a hard drive I wouldn't use.
The problem with people not buying the 20 is that everyone bought into the "I need card readers and wireless!" crap.
I can get a wireless receiver and USB card reader for about $70 US, so if I want them later I c...
...because I would buy the 360 in a heartbeat if it dropped by 10,000Yen and came with ten games, and I have the same issues with it.
I just recently bought my 20GB for 46000 yen, and most game stores are selling at around the same price. And the 40 GB model might not sell a lot in Japan. The PS2 section in stores is bigger than the DS section, and the DS section is usually 25% of the store.
Of course, that does mean that everyone already has a PS2, so maybe it won't affect who buys the PS3.
Never mind.
I should just delete this, but I won't because then I would feel like I waste...
...BF:Bad Company? That's a game that both Xbots and BSbots can get behind since it's on both consoles.
Where is the love for 90% destructible environments?!? And where's the love for one of the most popular (on PC anyway) FPS series out there?
This is an awesome article. It's very similar to another article on the Escapist a while back.
I agree. Buy what you want. Again, I was insulting the kid, not you. Most of us don't really see that much of a storyline in most games anyway, so we don't really care that much.
I'm obviously biased because I like realistic games, and the consoles don't generally have those. I have no reason to get one over any other, and definitely have no reason to get all three. I don't fault you for wanting all three systems, but I think I'm in the majority when I say that two are enough....
How I got so many disagrees for telling a little boy he sounds silly, I'll never know.
Listen folks, I was insulting the little boy because he said the Wii sucks and didn't give any reason. I like all games, and I like arguing. I don't like putting up with 12 year olds who want to argue with the adults but haven't learned how to use logic yet. I wasn't insulting every single person who owns both the 360 and the PS3.
I have a PS3 and a Wii. I could have had a 360 ...
PS360? Why would you buy two systems that are pretty much equal? Because they have 3 or 4 games that are particular to each? You'd make your mommy spend that much on you for Christmas just so you could play FFXIII and Halo3?
You're not a very considerate son.
Wii60? Absolutely, there are great games for both. One gives you graphics, and one gives you games that your friends can play together.
WiiS3? For sure. While watching our BR, we can code a n...
The inaccuracies are plenty annoying, but we only play the party games at my house so accuracy isn't a big demand. Forever Blue, Wii Sports, and Brain Training don't exactly need high accuracy.
I think that may be why most people don't complain about it. The Nintendo fans don't like it, but most people bought the Wii because bowling is fun when you're drunk.
I'd be much happier if the controllers were more responsive, but to be honest, I'm only interested in th...
...those looked kind of crappy to me. This is obviously a pre-release build, but GRAW2 looks way better, and BF:BC makes this look like poopies. Did you see the white van? And the tank? Those are circa-PIII graphics.
The people look good, the fighting looks good, but I expect the environments to look just as good if I'm going to pay 6500Yen for a game. Basically, I expect a lot more out of my cell.
I'll wait until I see screen shots from a build closer to relea...
...is a wonderful thing. A dictionary would serve you well in life also, my son.
"again, and again we see comparison between oranage and apples on this forum, What does this have to do with anything??"
First, at least it's better than the constant fanboy crap. Second, it's more like comparing yellow apples to red apples.
"are these articles intended to prove the developers stupid as they have this heavenly Cell that sony created from souls of angels and they cant take advantage of it??"
Maybe that's what th...
...not really. A CPU and a GPU are exactly the same thing, except one is assigned solely to rendering graphics, and one does pretty much everything.
One way to make computers more efficient would be to recombine the CPU and GPU, and ditch most of the RAM. That's kind of where Intel is trying to go with the cell, and you can see that with the development of multi-core processors.
Dude. His name is "Dean". He's no more Japanese than you are.
...everyone always mentions how big their TV is before they make a comment about anything. Even if it has nothing to do with resolution.
...is one of the most popular in Japan. It wasn't developed for the NA market.
To answer your questions, squallsoft, I will ask another. Why do you think your opinion is more important than that of others? If many people buy games like these, that means the game is popular. That means, the industry will start making more games like these.
So, in fact, yes. The definition of gamer has changed. Gamers are no longer 400lb cheetos-eating zit-faced virgins who spend...
