well as far as i'm aware this is very different to red dead revolver and more comparible to GTA this time around
and yet mw2 is 1 (or is it THE) best selling game ever?
It will be good, loads of people will buy it, soon after all the balance issues and glitches will be found out and a lot of people will stop playing.
I can see why COD always gets praise from reviews tbh, cus they are always good games when you play em at first. or even if ur a casual gamer who puts in the hours here and there. but when your the sorta guy reaching a days playtime in a few weeks after release all the glitches and balance issues in the multiplayer become aparen...
well in general when a developer finishes work on a game they get to work on the next with the possibility of supporting the last game.
i mean take treyarch and waw/black ops. i'm pretty sure work started on black ops soon after waw and yet waw had like 3 map packs!
several problems:
1) the 2010 gamer edition was released 5 months ago and this site only just got round to reporting this news no lol (plus article being posted on here is over a week old)
2) some of these are individual games and not franchises lmao e.g. lego batman should be lego if we're talking about the lego games as a franchise
but yeh, for a fact based list of the best franchises you could use a metacritic average for all games in ...
Dead rising 2? the first was a good game but not goty contender and the second isn't looking anything more special imo.
way to early tbh but some other possibles:
Read Dead Redemption - a big game by R* thats already getting super high reviews
Halo:Reach - should be standard halo tbh so would be surprising not to see it as a contender.
Fallout:New vegas - F3 was a contender and this should be a strong game
dunno if it will be 'terrifying' but this game certainly looks great. the art style is excellent imo

2) more friends have ps3's and i know a few of them are really excited about this game
GTA4 on ps3 wasn't too bad though tbh but i do think 360 ran a bit smoother
ye but if the guy prefers playing games on his 360 he'd only switch to a ps3 multiplat if there was significant dlc for it.
this is a nice little bonus but not worth switching platforms over imo, especially if he has mates to play with on the 360's online...

even so i'm still looking forward to this game. looks like they're finally giving the franchise the kick it needs.
and honestly, we haven't had many good modern shooters, at least not many that play well so i have no problems with this being set in the modern era.
Ninja Gaiden 2 just gets really cheap towards the end. every ninja and his dog has multi firing rocket launches ffs, 1 mistake and u spend several attempts getting off the floor before being killed.
not to mention it has tough bosses that after defeating explode killing you if you were too close, but chances are you were too close cus u needed to be to attack it!!!

2) Alan Wake currently has a higher score on metacritic
for me judging from the beta Reach is a solid game that's a lot of fun to play (and certain purchase for me). It doesn't really do anything new though tbh. It doesn't really need to though because it's a solid shooter, however the once innovative shooter is now simply a rock solid shooter imo.
ppl buying halo reach will this year will be expecting more of the same with more weapons, balancing, gadgets etc but nothing not seen in games before it.
different developers though... or do you just mean becuase activision will charge more than a standard game again
my main worry is framer rate tbh. owned skate 2 on ps3 and enjoyed it but at times the frame rate was really sluggish and could visibly see it slow down when entering certain areas, particularly those with large numbers of ppl walking about.
for a game that revolves a lot around timing I'll go for the version which offers the most stable frame rate
giving users who buy the game new bonuses, like with bfbc2 where u get the new maps free if u have a new copy of the game otherwise u have to pay is fine imo, but restricting access to some parts of the game???!!! screw that.

got a code the other day so waiting for the servers to go live for the upcoming test. looks really good fun though and the payment strategy seems very reasonable and may help me get into mmo's more.
i've always been put off by monthly fee's cus of thinkin i'd have to play x amount to get my moneys worth. APB still has a plan like this but also for more casual players where u buy 20 hours worth of play and can use it whenever u like. this sounds much more appea...

some would say that next gen gaming has allowed us to have minimal loading. it's just poor design choices imo. sure you get used to it but it's 2010 so to have extreme loading times like this is unacceptable imo.
otherwise it is looking like a good game, but with what is essentially a part game, i'm sure people don't wanna be sitting through loading screens.
reall really enjoying Alan Wake, especially having just started chapter 4 and looking frwd to getting Red Dead Redemption next week
