''so that only makes it a good console? Since when do sales dictate whether a console is good or not? ''
... the dreamcast was great because of its games. it was technically great, also innovative, being the first console to make a serious attempt at offering an online platform and internet access. it paved the way for the future consoles. But it couldnt compete with the ps2.
never the less, despite its commercial failure, it has a great legac...
yes, the dreamcast was a great console, but it failed commercially. which makes it a good console to judge the wiiu in comparison.
except the wiiu is just bad all round. it has almost virtually nothing in its favour.
the ps3 was always going to be successful because it had a great foundation to build success on. the wiiu was dead on arrival because it was obsolete tech, no third party support, and £100 too expensive due to a gimmicky controller nobody wa...
the wiiu crashed and burned a long time ago.
the wiiu is the laughing stock of the industry now. its become a symbol of failure.
i can say unreservedly- its worse than the dreamcast.
the wiiu is a disaster, we all know that.
but it doesnt help that the employees in games shops often dont care about what they are selling. ie, they might only be interested in xbox but not playstation or nintendo. or vise versa.
many times i have gone into a major games retailer and asked for the latest release, only for them to have never heard of it, or claim the game doesnt even exist.
for example, i recently asked if they had Journey fo...
lol everyone wants metroid, that's why nintendo arent going to make it.
they like depriving us of what we actually want lately.
so, metroid? forget it!
nobody even owns a wiiu.
only nintendo employees own wiius
some of the courses had right angle turns though. it wasnt even difficult, i think more bad design.
another example being tiny strips of road (little more than car width) with no barriers preventing you from falling off when 30 racers are supposed to go down it at once. thats not steep difficulty, its just bad design.
and this was from sega, not in their glory days, but right in the height of their decline. i dont think gx had much quality.
f zero gx was not as good as f zero x on the n64.
f zero x was pure f zero but on a whole new level. sega watered down the formula with gx, the levels had a wipeout feel to them and the handling and music was rubbish.
i enjoyed the game and played it lots, but it was flawed.
nintendo must be tripping out- this recent strong female protagonist theme is imaginary.
even samus was revealed to be a pathetic, bratty, whiney weakling in metroid other M. and even that was years ago.
besides, the female lead thing was done way back in what, 1995 with tomb raider. nintendo are a bit late to start championing females as if they are setting trends.
it doesnt help that the wiiu is a console with poor tech inside.
it doesnt help that it comes with a pointless and gimmicky controller.
it doesnt help that controller costs a fortune.
it doesnt help nintendo try to sell the console on the strength of the controller and yet dont offer any support for it.
it doesnt help that the wiiu has no third party support.
it doesnt help that the games it does get from thi...
looks good, very temping.
but WTF is that about the game only being limited to certain stores and being £50
are nintendo stupid or what?
the gamecube remake has been the ultimate version of this game for a very long time now. looks like that will change now with this new update, unless capcom do something to mess with the formula.
its also a shame if it is just a hd port of the gamecube game, even though the game does still look amazing today, it could be incredible if they totally re-imagined it from the ground up for the next gen tech.
personally, i would keep the fixed cameras- that is the...
@ChickeyCantor
yes, nintendo have always been innovators, but they have lost their way now. i dont think anyone would mind them experimenting if it was just small projects, while they kept giving us the stone cold classics we are used to getting from them.
instead they are doing it backwards, seemingly devoting the majority of the companies resources to producing and force-feeding us these stupid experimental games, while the proper games are in short supply...
nintendo need to stop experimenting and just make good games.
nintendo need to stop trying to re-invent gaming and get back to doing what it does best-making classic games.
they have WASTED the last ten years trying to reinvent the wheel.
time to go back to basics, time to give us what we are crying out for- great games.
nintendo went from a classic making machine to a hit and miss willy wonka style gimmick factory.
I was on the wii the other day and was looking at the virtual console. it said mario 64 came out in 1997, mario kart 64 in 98 and ocarina of time in 98 too. those 3 monumental games in that short space of time. and i know goldeneye, starfox 64 and other classic games were out around that time too.. nintendo were inspired and making genre defining games.
fast forward to 2014 and their creative output is barren. nothing. sparse. it really is a sad site to see such a great compa...
i am a nintendo fan who has owned every single nintendo console since the NES. the wiiu is the only console i havent owned. its THAT bad.
buying a wiiu would be like throwing money down the drain.
i come here every day with the hope there will be some good news, something exciting that will make me change my mind about wiiu. but every day my feelings are reinforced and its reconfirmed on a daily basis the wiiu is a waste of time and space.
ad...
club nintendo is a largly wack affair, with nintendo rarely using the service to give fans what they actually want.
ALTHOUGH, there have been some inspired uses, such as the gold coin collection they rewarded to users who registered xenoblade, pandoras tower and last story for wii. that was genuinely good.
the only other good thing i have seen on there is the classic nes controller for the wii, but that was only in japan.
oh well
''Pcs and lol _ wut must be the same people.''
haha no. just because we both are critical of wiiu doesnt mean we are the same people. thats like me saying you are every other nintendo fan because you blindly defend nintendo even in the face of their defeat this gen.
'' your opinion has now be revealed as just pure hate''
lmao hate? really? just for saying the wiiu is finished in its current form and needs a r...
its time for nintendo and the fans to admit defeat with wiiu, its time to go back to the table and draw up a new strategy to turn the wiiu around.
that strategy should include THE OPTION to purchase a wiiu without the useless controller. if not the option, make it standard for wiiu to come without it.
the controller was the wiius main selling point, and the wiiu isnt selling. so its time to drop the controller. a simple system update can solve any problems ...
nintendo lost the magic a long time ago.
now they just make cheap imitations of their own games, only devoid of the magic, charm and creativity we all were once familiar with.
its so bad, for the first time i cant even imagine nintendo making another console. what's even worse is that i dont care if they do or not
