The Transformer Movie games weren't going to be War for Cybertron 2 even if High Moon worked on them. They are their own series with their own mechanics and audience expectations. They are more for 8 year old kids getting a birthday present or being picked up as a weekend rental by Mom.
They AREN'T made for some aging nerds who nostalgically miss the old Marvel/DIC animated series and the G1 versions of the characters.

Borderlands ISN'T an open world. It's a big room with load-gates design with hub levels linking the dungeons.
Unreal Tournament uses the iron sites trigger for alt-fire. Halo uses it for grenades. All iron sites does is make normal hip firing worse than normal to justify its existence and it's most fun when used at a distance on an unaware target. Just having a scoped mode on appropriate weapons does the same thing.

Square Enix did a crappy port of a fairly crappy game that was chock full of forgettable movies that looked way better than the actual gameplay, and everyone was disappointed no matter which console they bought it on. Meanwhile Lost Odyssey was on four discs came out two years earlier, still looked great, and rocked. Now SQuare is trying to cash in again because Versus and Kingdom Hearts will never come out and all their other attempts at publishing rpg's pretty much crashed and burned.
