Why would anybody consider what games they have no interest in "news" to be shared with others? Lame.
Resistance 2 only sold about half what Resistance did. It's already a weakening franchise.
"guys like you" is most of the video game market now.
That's why publishers stopped listening to guys like you, Sweaty Florida. Listening to you and your bitterness costs them money. Get over it.
If gamers are foolish and don't respect their own consumer rights to resell their own purchased property then publishers will certainly take advantage of that and you will see even greater publisher excesses until the market finds the presence of mind to punish them for going too far.
It's sad to see people making stupid excuses about games being a special category of product that supposedly justifies a customer getting less value for the same price (that goes down v...
Dumb article written by someone who is obviously doesn't know much about what they are trying to talk about.
Kill Team = $10 downloadable game out now.
40K Space Marine = 3rd person shooter/action game coming out in September with a much bigger budget.
Why make noise about AAA competition like that means anything? Resistance is not a particularly strong selling series whether it is a AAA project or not. The last one barely sold about 2 ...
Whatever, goggle wearing fanboy Sony troll. But I have no plans to buy Uncharted 3 this year. I sure don't want to read any silly overhyped bullshit about it in an Unreal thread.
Duder we are on the third Street Fighter 4 game already. Think about that. THIRD VERSION of Street Fihgter 4! THAT is milking.
Steam may not be winning as much as you think,
EA just bought Popcap games and and a hell of a lot of Pop Cap's games are big sellers on Steam, and EA has been pulling stuff off of steam (like Crysis 2, and the upcoming Old Republic MMO) and putting it on their new Origin online store.
You come off as a snobbish, boring lecturing prude.
Sounds like total made up bullshit.
Maybe women with the relevant skills don't want to be worked 90 hour weeks, with little to no overtime pay, for years on end, usually under wishy-washy or contradictory goasl/instructions, only to get laid off once the game ships and flops, while the supervisors get bonuses no matter what happens and move on to build newer and cheaper teams out starting pay/desperate enough to take a pay cut developers.
Ever think of that? It's just generally a crappy place to work. ...
That was in primetime on BROADCAST TV and relates to rules set up in the agreements where the US government leases the broadcast frequency to the network. the network agreed not to do that in exchange for the right to use the frequency. If they do it anyway they risk losing their right to use the frequency and fines per their agreement. It's contract law not criminal law.
Meanwhile cable TV and satellite TV, and fiber TV all show programming with plenty of nudity and si...
The article is stupid.
For "sex" it has a glamour picture of a girl wearing a jacket with her tit out and implies that it is illegal and considered porn in the US.
Nope. It's not.
That's not sex that's nudity and nudity in glamour photography is NOT restricted to porn. It's often seen to have artistic merit. Fashion magazines have nipples and nudity in the ads on a pretty regular basis and are not viewed as porn or l...
The thing is, time, due to quickly falling consumer demand, ALREADY lowers the price of most new games by as much as 30% within a month or two. Within a month most games are $40 new. In 6 months many new games are down to $20 or less.
Most games simply aren't worth what they charge at launch, which is why the price comes down so fast and sales cut off so fast.

Game developers and publishers want unearned revenue from the used market without risking any money like those in the used market did by actually buying, marketing, stocking, and fulfilling used games.
Accepting this as normal and good isn't growing up. It's just buying in to a very stupid and flawed premise that video games should work differently from other goods in the marketplace and that consumers should lose their rights to resell what they buy intact.

343 Industies is headed by Frank O' Conner and already has lots of ex-bungie employees in it.
Original fan art? Wha? You mean concept art?
This coop mod is coming from a group of amateur programmers not Crytek.
Crysis 2 would be a super breezy cake-walk in coop. hell, once you know what you are doing and suing the suit powers efficiently it's pretty easy in the normal campaign.
If everyone has to crunch all the time then you are understaffed to meet your goals. If you are understaffed then either someone is trying to expand the profit margin by way too much, you have a hiring problem, or you are severely undercapitalized and trying to run things on far too little money.
Either way it's a bad management practice that burns people out.
Also given how much of a team typically gets laid off once a game ships this talk of bonuses (...
