The library will obviously get better overtime
So the next God of War will have the trial day one? If so then this is pretty much a Games Pass-lite, but allows for Sony to still make sales on their first party games and allows for people to "try" games that they otherwise wouldn't have, like many have claimed to do so on Game Pass as well.
I don't see any downside to what Sony has proposed here.

You: - "I'm surprised more people aren't against this."
His response to that statement : - "All they did was add two existing services together. Why be against something that's already been around for over 10 years?"
I hope that's clear now
This is just the reality of creating software in general. Every new game being made is doing something new that the devs have never coded for before and so will run into unexpected issues.
I guess to curb this from a public standpoint is to only announce games when they are very close to going gold, but companies like to generate excitement and gamers are impatient. For example, gamers were begging R* for news about GTA6 and they finally caved to pacify them and announced i...
Wondering if the game trials are day one for most games. If it is that'll give the benefits of Game Pass where you still technically play games day one, but still have the benefit of people actually buying the game if they truly like it. People have claimed to have bought games on Game Pass despite not having to do so whatsoever so I think this trial system is nice alternative for Sony.
Wow, how low can we go. . .
I can see where publishers might extend this across all their games for the ones that don't have a game with the pull of GTA. For example, like for $6.00 a month you get exclusive/easy access to new monthly in game content and in game currency across all their titles as opposed to making a GP competitor or a EA Origin/Ubisoft+.
I don't like where we are headed. . . . . . . .
It's a conspiracy!
Can we say the same thing for when Xbox wins from an American developer?
This shouldn't even be a debate. Series X should be outperforming full stop because it has the higher specs remember?
All that trashing of Cerny and the PS5 for using "variable" TFs and the other bs seems like so long ago. Are the "tools" still late for Xbox?
"interesting, @zeref, that you cherished your xbox, so passionately and consistently, long before gamepass was a thing, yet now that's 'the reason' you won't get a PlayStation...hmmm"
Haters will say anything to justify BS. I remember when people said stuff like the reason why they don't have/want a PS3 is because of x-game chat. . . . . .
^^^^^^^^
If the series S isn't holding anything back then neither is the PS4 because "everything just scales"
Pick a narrative my guy. Either the series S and last gen consoles are holding things back or nothing is because "everything just scales"
Well, you have been fooled
@Darth
"As a software company, their hand has been stuck in the gaming cookie jar since practically the beginning."
That actually makes things worse then. They have more years in the gaming space than Sony and Nintendo yet are out performed by them?
"Sorry, but Phil's words here ring hollow."
Not only that, you have people saying that the reason they made those big purchases was to keep the FAANG companies out, but if that were the case then be the "good guy" that you are release those games from the publishers you bought on all platforms seeing as exclusivity wasn't the motivation but to prevent those "evil" companies from "disrupting" gaming because you don't "...
Have been sticking with GTAV(online) for 3 generations and not a single single-player dlc. . .
You don't want any one company getting a stronghold on anything. Doesn't matter the company.
Good guy Microsoft is protecting us from big bad Facebook Apple Netflix Google. All hail Phil 🙌
I don't like this "content war" at all. Now it's all about hoarding as much ips as possible on a single platform that would otherwise be available on all platforms.
"Don't blame others now that MS has put you in the position of having to be a hypocrite if you want to defend them."
Exactly.
@Obscure
You can still play the game trials (assuming they are available day one on release) and then buy the game if you really like it. Remember this is what you guys do on game pass anyway right? Try out games and buy the ones you really like or was that a lie y'all have been saying all this time?
