@Monkey_Balls I play on PS5 - it’s also the only next gen console I have. So why would I attack her for working on PlayStation? I also work on PlayStation myself… maybe I should attack myself.
Also most of the studios MS and Sony have are acquisition… so what?
What Zhipp said. The industry doesn’t really use the term 2nd party.
If you’re an external studio working on an IP owned by one of the hardware companies, you’re working on a first party title.
If it’s timed exclusive, you’re working on a third party title.
A third party dev can work on a first party title - e.g Asobo working on Flight Simulator for Microsoft.
@Monkey_Balls and they got a lot of stick for their behavior and performance last gen and turned it around for this gen.
Now they’ve released hit games like Psychonauts 2, MSFS already this year with (the very fun) Halo and FH to come. And GamePass is on fire with 12 minutes, back 4 blood etc.
Heck even one of the best PS5 games is developed by Microsoft.
The difference is there’s no indication of Jade Raymond improving or changing post...
Which part isn’t fair? They paid $60, and they got a copy of the game as they expected.
Where’s the scam? Did they not actually get a copy of the game?
I buy a TV for its visual quality and support for things like Dolby Vision and 120Hz - not for the UI.
If you’re spending more time in your TV menu than you are in-game, you’re doing it wrong.
Don't waste your money on a Sony TV. Get an LG.
@Chevalier Has she? You don't know either of us nor how old we are.
She doesn't have the best track record post AC... SC Blacklist, WD1, AC Unity, Battlefront 2...
Also where did I say The Initiative are a good studio? Please show me.
this^
Has she actually done anything meaningful since the first AC?
Day 1 for me. I don't care too much if they don't do major graphical upgrades etc., just increase the res, use the PC textures, and modernize the gameplay a bit (e.g. the shooting controls in GTA3-VC-SA were awful on console).
The article Petebloodyonion submitted is within N4G guidelines... hence why it was approved and is still up.
As for there being a 'bunch of articles' on the topic - N4G doesn't allow duplicate articles, there are in fact duplicates of this article which were rejected for that reason.
Assume good intent. Pete has been on N4G for ages, and while we don't always agree on things, he's not a troll at all.
LOL, this made my day.
I don't expect this to be a full UE4 remake to be honest, it would take forever to remake these 3 games. Plus why would they give revenue share to Epic when they have their own engine?
I'm expecting just a remastered version of the original 3 - which is fine, they are still great games and are hard to play on modern boxes.
It still blows my mind that we're getting Back4Blood day 1. Hype.
I’m sure PC gamers are hoping for it - more games is always good. And the more people who experience Sony exclusives the better.
I’m a PS5 gamer and I couldn’t care less if the games come to PC day 1, it doesn’t devalue my purchase at all because I like the comfort and ease of a console.
People get too worked up over the games coming to PC.
It takes time to build up talent that can deliver the PC versions day 1, you can't just have your current staffing levels suddenly have to support an extra platform, one which has much more hardware variance than console.
You go out and hire staff and acquire studios that are known for porting and working in other peoples code, perhaps a Nixxes and a Bluepoint ;)
Someone didn’t play the beta^
And yet it’s still the most fun I’ve had with any shooter game in the last 10 years, if not more.
They’re onto a winning formula with Infinite - at least with the MP experience.
Still pumped to play through this again, despite the mixed reviews.
I would’ve loved if they completely remade it and included American NM too - but the game is great regardless.
@Chevalier Been on N4G for about a year probably now, yeah.
The difference is I’m just a lead engineer, I don’t set any kind of creative direction for the titles I work on - I simply execute and deliver other peoples ideas.
She will be a key stakeholder in the direction of the title - as she has been on her past games.
Also WD1 and ACU were a mess, Battlefront 2 an even bigger mess. And where’s splinter cell nowadays?
